are the ''wmnz'' just not as funny?

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=I7izJggqCoA ..

^^ Your thoughts on this?

** btw, just a heads up/warning... This commentary is from a notable british-american intellectual (who also happens to be a complete lush) - so there are a few utterances of crude and rather unsophisticated 'englishisms' - that are used (once or twice) to make reference to some of the lesser effeminate among the female species. So what I'm saying is that there is some course use of 'unrefined language'... so please do not watch if you might take offense to the british.

As a female, I do see female comedy as being more reserved and coy, except in the "bull-****" and "Jewish" cases cited by the guy on the video. I also see more of the "straight guy (gal)" routines being done by women.

Tina Fey is wicked smart and funny--one of the few attractive female comics. I also like Maya Rudolph, who has the ability to transform into any race or character she chooses. Marilyn Monroe was one of the greats, but she played it "straight."

I think it actually goes back to what the guy was saying and then some. He says that women don't need to be funny, since the ugly males are here to entertain us. On the flip side, I think men can be challenged and intimidated by a funny woman, which deters a lot of women from going all out there.

And BTW, I think the whole video was him poking fun at a lot of gender issues.

"Funny" is all a matter of personal perspective.

I agree. Also, real-life funny is a completely different animal from standup comedian funny. As much as I think Hitchens has a couple of good points, I don't think that a generalization can be drawn about women in general being more or less funny than men in general.

Unless the generalization itself is meant to be funny...

Wmnz are just as funny as men, but the comedy is far too suble for most men to understand.

Except, of course, for the red house ( and a select few others) .

I think Rita Rudner is as funny as anyone, but she's a acquired taste, sort of like New Yorker cartoons. My wife doesn't get most of them, and she doesn't get Rita Rudner's material either.

This goes far to explain why men find The Three Stooges funny and women do not.

Tina Fey, gorgeous and hilarious. I laugh and drool over her at the same time.

Obviously women aren't as smart. I mean, just watch this youtube video. If it's on youtube it's gotta be true!

Sarah Silverman. Funniest. Wmn. Evar.

You have to be fearless in comedy, and she is that.

Just curious, is "wmnz" in a different category than "women"? I'm still trying to figure out the difference between "gurlz" and "girls". Does the misspelling of a word somehow make a person more awesomes? If so, then I'm for sure in the wimynz category.

No, I don't find female comedians as funny as male comedians.

In my experience, the funny women were usually pretty smart and somewhat successful. The cute women I've been around, on the other hand...

From what I understand, females are just naturally more reserved. Hence the reason why men are usually the class clowns and women are the ones that usually date them...

That would be weird if the majority of men were dating the male class clowns.
