Tell me about Stacey...

For those of us that see the threads about her, and wish we knew more. I know she can post with humor and insight and wit when she may not be with us long which takes more grace than I'll ever possess! So tell me about this incredible person...might be nice for Stacey to hear too, how she's affected those of you in Foo with her words or actions!

Stacey never really did anything for me on a personal level, but she really made my bikeforums experience something amazing. There are a few members who have contributed greatly to it, and she is one of those 4.

She always struck me as an honest and funny individual who lived life the way she wanted. Kudos to her. Many interesting things were contributed to this site by Stacey. Even if I didn't agree with everything she said...I still had interest in her posts. Bike Forums...especially FOO was a different place with her here.

Her posts have made me laugh out loud in public places (like in the school computer labs or at work). I think her sense of humor is the kick-a**est. She has rats. They're way cool. Maybe there are threads with pictures of them, I'll have to do a search. When I came back to BF, I was so bummed that she wasn't here. It's blah without her.
Count me a member of her fan club. I think she knows it, but if not, there it is.

Until recently I actually interacted more with her up in Classic & Vintage where we would occasionally interact about Craigslist bikes.

Then, since I didn't used to hang out in Foo very much, I didn't realize that she had been banned, and just thought she had faded from activity as people do sometimes, when talk of her illness and lifting her ban came up in foo.

It was nice to have her back on Bikeforums for while, and to get to meet her face to face a few weeks ago.

She is as upbeat and gracious in person as online.

Stacey is just a cool person to get to know. Great sense of humor, intelligent, and very sharp witted. I enjoy any interaction I have with her.

Irreverent and uncompromising - but not in a hateful way.

I remember when I posted pictures of a frame I had just gotten back from being painted. I didn't notice my address was visible in one of the pictures. Stacey pointed it out to me within 10 minutes.

Stacey is unafraid to tell you exactly how she feels. I find this admirable about her. She has been on the forums for a long time and used to wear the blue star of moderation also.

We have exchanged strange gifts like wasabi cashews, chili/lime peanuts and foam balls.

Stacey's thread when she was first diagnosed with Leukemia back in 2006 was one of the first Foo threads I read. She's made me laugh more than pretty much anybody else here, and has always been completely honest and forthright in her opinions. And irreverent

All that said, I still can't forgive her for the time she used the picture of Pheard in his underwear as her avatar

And she introduced me to Harry Nilsson's "I'd rather be dead". It's a terrible but hilarious (in that Stacey kind of way) thing that I have the song running through my head at this time.

Stacey basically gave me a fork for one my bikes that I've been having trouble locating for almost a year.

Her humor kind of shocks the laughs out of you. I've really enjoyed reading her posts over the last few years.

I totally loved reading her posts and interacting with her virtually on here- I wish I had had a chance to do more of that. She was a real breath of fresh air on a medium that in other venues is often rife with dissent and just plain nastiness. Her sense of humor was (and I dare say, still is) so completely grounded and so completely hysterically cynical- it just resonates to the bone somehow. I missed her during her "hiatus" and will dearly miss her when she's gone from here, but I can't imagine not thinking about her now and then for a long, long time to come. Silly isn't it? That someone I've never met (even though we live less than hour away from each other) would have such a profound impact on me... that she would have such a profound impact on all of us.

OK- 'nuff of that. Stacey, we love ya, doll!
