Unsafe, I can make this easy on you and take one for the team. Was going to go for a salad from a sub shop but if you want, I will go to Whataburger instead.

Life is too short for bad burgers, especially if you have not had one in a while.

I'd go to a place like Outback, or Houston's for one.

I'm biased though. I've eaten a lot of fast food, and really need to change my diet. No health problems yet (other than being overweight), but I want to change what I eat to keep it that way.

+1. I had one for lunch yesterday. I eat plenty of meat and still think boca burgers taste good.

Exactly. A Boca Burger is a perfectly respectable food item, but it's not a totally satisfying replacement for a real burger.

Did you do the salad or the burger?

If I do have a burger it'll be like girljen and caloso recommended. I want a real burger, not some nasty micky D's nastiness. I'm thinking I might try the butcher shop downtown. I've heard they are the best around here for meat.

If you can't get a GOOD burger, just go to McDonald's, where you can have a burger and still be a veggie (since their burgers are 90% cardboard).
"Let us hope our weapons are never needed --but do not forget what the common people knew when they demanded the Bill of Rights: An armed citizenry is the first defense, the best defense, and the final defense against tyranny. If guns are outlawed, only the government will have guns. Only the police, the secret police, the military, the hired servants of our rulers. Only the government -- and a few outlaws. I intend to be among the outlaws" - Edward Abbey

Tried to amend my carnivorous habits
    Made it nearly seventy days
Losin' weight without speed, eatin' sunflower seeds
Drinkin' lots of carrot juice and soakin' up rays

But at night I'd had these wonderful dreams
    Some kind of sensuous treat
Not zuchinni, fettucini or bulghar wheat
But a big warm bun and a huge hunk of meat

    Chorus:
    Cheeseburger in paradise (paradise)
Heaven on earth with an onion slice (paradise)
Not too particular not too precise (paradise)
I'm just a cheeseburger in paradise

Heard about the old time sailor men
They eat the same thing again and again
Warm beer and bread they said could raise the dead
Well it reminds me of the menu at a Holiday Inn

Times have changed for sailors these days
When I'm in port I get what I need
Not just Havanas or bananas or daiquiris
But that American creation on which I feed

    Chorus:
    Cheeseburger in paradise (paradise)
Medium rare with mustard 'be nice (paradise)
Heaven on earth with an onion slice (paradise)
I'm just a cheeseburger in paradise

I like mine with lettuce and tomato
Heinz 57 and french fried potatoes
Big kosher pickle and a cold draft beer
Well good God Almighty which way do I steer for my

    Chorus:
    Cheeseburger in paradise (paradise)
Makin' the best of every virtue and vice (paradise)
Worth every damn bit of sacrifice (paradise)
To get a cheeseburger in paradise
To be a cheeseburger in paradise
I'm just a cheeseburger in paradise

    Coda:
I like mine with lettuce and tomato
Heinz 57 and french fried potatoes
Big kosher pickle and a cold draft beer
Well good God Almighty which way do I steer for my

My GF has 'issues' with meat but still loves steaks and burgers, as long as I don't remind her of the critters that were killed so we could enjoy said burger.

Dad's Kitchen here in Sacramento makes an awesome burger. So does Opa! Opa!, which is a Greek restaurant with an authentic b!tchy Greek cook.

I'm deleting the contents of this post, but not because I'm running away from it. It's liberally quoted from below, and I apologize and explain later. I just don't want people reacting to this post before they read the whole thread.

Before the book "Fast Food Nation" and the mocumentary "Supersize Me", McDonalds patties used to be only half beef and half filler.

I'll call it what I want, thanks. You can call it what you will, too. Why even get started on the whole thing? Hamburgers have ridiculous names. There's no ham in them. Besides, I like to think that the term "burger" is defined by a bun, fixins and a patty of some sort. There are salmon burgers, beef burgers, etc., why not have veggie burgers?

Sorry I was just in rant mode. Feel free to ignore. Or not.

My main message was simply to embrace the animal within.
