Glasses on men/women - yes/no?

Reading the what turns you on thread, I noted a pic posted that showed an attractive young woman with glasses as being a 'turn on'.

As a child of the 70s, glasses - both on men and women - were considered big fashion 'no-nos' by my generation and made someone VERY un-attractive from a popularity standpoint. Now it seems, from my observation, that glasses are either a) a new fashion accessory or b) a lot of women < 30, in particular, aren't afraid to wear glasses and in fact will wear them over contact lenses. This doesn't seem to have caught on with women > 30, though... yet.

I also think that women regardless of age prefer their guys to not wear glasses if they can wear contacts... just wanted to see what the collective thoughts are in here. For me, having to wear readers now at 46 with my contacts... or pull my glasses slightly farther down my nose to read, I'd probably go back to wearing glasses full time except when I'm out doing physical activity.

as long as the glasses compliment your face well.

I'd much rather see what the hell I'm doing than have some vain, bubble-gum chewing "girl" hit on me because I wear/don't wear specs.

I'm with AEO, if the glasses fit your face then yes. I've been told I look good in my glasses so I guess guys like glasses on women as well.

I also agree with AEO, plus there are so many styles out there they can really accent your personality style. I have dated men who wear glasses and I don't even see them. (oh, maybe I had my contacts out!)

This probably has no relation to reality, since there are numerous reasons why people wear glasses instead of contacts or getting lasik, but when I see an attractive woman wearing glasses, my brain tells me that she is a particularly un-vain, down-to-earth person, which makes her more attractive.

yes. and yes.
The Geek shall inherit the Earth, says so in the Bible.
My wife says I look like something is missing without my glasses, it's all in finding the right frames.

That's not me in the avatar, BTW.

I have Coke bottles regardless of style - I'm -13 in my right and -12 in my left - if I buy very small frames it helps keep the surface area down so they're thinner.

I love cuda2k's glasses.

Just like any other accessory, if you wear them with confidence, it's very attractive.

Women in glasses are hot, hot, hot! Sexy librarian stylie, yes please, mmm...

That said, I wear American Optical glasses. They are a basic plastic safety frame with a keyhole nose. If you look a picture of the 1952 graduating class at MIT, I'd be willing to bet that most of the kids were wearing this style. My buddy says they used to be referred to as "contraceptive glasses" when he was in the Coast Guard because if you wore them on shore leave you were guaranteed not to get laid. (Never had that problem, however.) I like em. They are sturdy, they fit me well, the keyhole design means they are great for wind protection on a bike... and they've been made forever and will be around forever. Plus cheap and made in the USA. Got the Transitions lenses, too, for the uber-geeky sunglasses inside look when I come in out of the sun.

This, right here. Must explain why virtually every woman I've dated have all worn glasses.

Either that, or I'm attracted to women who are blind as bats and can't tell what a neanderthal ugmo I am

they can be very on a woman, especially if dressed as a naughty teacher, secretary, or librarian, and even more so during certain "things". the right glasses can be wayyyyy sexy.
