Puppies - need recipes

One of my wife's co-workers found a skinny young (maybe 6 months of age) Bloodhound roaming around a park, so they took her to a vet, kept her a while, posted "found dog" posters, checked the lost-and-found, etc. Well, of course, we end up with the pooch, and it seems she is pregnant. Need recipes; thanks in advance.

The only one I know of is barbequed, on a stick.

Sorry. The thread title was just too tempting.

I'd call my local Chinese takeout place, they should be able to fix you right up. If nothing else they'll take the spare pups off your hands.

Hi Stacey! Interesting responses, from what to feed the pooches, to how to prepare them for the table. Hmm, decisions, decisions, walk the dogs, or wok the dogs.

Seriously, I would like to get my hands on the human waste that abandoned the pooch. What we thought was going to be a rescue of one pooch has now become a puppy farm. I can only hope that it being her first litter, it will be smaller, as Bloodhounds can easily have 12 to 15! Of course, Heidi, our ever-maternal Boxer, is sure to want to help raise them. Denied the opportunity to have her own pups, she tries to adopt everything that moves.

OK, back to recipes. Do they taste like chicken?

Probably better to eat 'em early, before those large moist brown eyes complicate things.

Our pool is green right now, while we wait for the tadpoles with their tiny moist brown eyes grow up.

Here's a better recipe than what I posted earlier...

This puppy stew is made with lean puppy cubes, carrots and potatoes, and parsley dumplings.
INGREDIENTS:

* 2 tablespoons shortening or cooking oil
* 2 pounds cubed lean puppy shoulder
* 4 cups water
* 2 teaspoons salt
* 1/4 teaspoon pepper
* 1 bay leaf
* 3 carrots, cut in 1-inch slices
* 2 small to medium potatoes, peeled and cut into 1-inch chunks
* 1 medium onion, halved and sliced
* 1 cup frozen green peas, thawed
* 2 tablespoons flour
* 3 tablespoons cold water
* .
* Parsley Dumplings
* 2 cups biscuit mix
* 3/4 cup milk
* 1 teaspoon dried parsley flakes or 1 tablespoon minced fresh parsley

PREPARATION:
Melt shortening or oil in a Dutch oven; brown puppy cubes well; pour off fat. To the puppy, add the 4 cups water, salt and pepper, and bay leaf. Bring to a boil then reduce heat; cover and simmer for 2 hours, until meat is tender. Stir in carrots, onion, and potato; cook 20 minutes longer. Stir in the thawed peas.

Blend 2 tablespoons flour with the 3 tablespoons water; Stir into stew. Cook until mixture begins to boil and thicken.

Mix dumpling ingredients with a fork until well moistened, but do not overmix. Spoon dumplings onto gently boiling stew, trying to keep the dumplings on the meat and vegetables and not too far into the liquid. Cook slowly over low heat for 10 minutes, uncovered. Cover and cook 10 minutes longer over low heat. Dumplings will have a biscuit-like texture inside when done. Check the stew for scorching while dumplings cook, but be careful not to break dumplings up.
Serves 6.

I remember when we pulled into Korea for the first time. USN
We were walking thru a market area and this guy was deep frying them as the were born.
They called them Puppy Balls. Yummy! I couldn't do it, but my buddy said they tasted like Monkey.

Mornin' gents. A fair to middlin' day. I had half a waffle & 2 bacon strips for dinner, then 1/4 of a grilled ham & cheese for brunch this morning. Not tired enough for sleep.
