    Linus, where are you?

My boss and I had this discussion this morning.

Where is Linus Torvalds? Talk about a low profile person that has made as great an impact on the computing world as, Jobs or Gates, IMHO.

Sorry, however being off topic is sorta your M.O, isn't it.

I figured he would still be involved in the kernel. But he use to do keynote speeches and such. I remember when he and Bill Gates shared the same platform in Vegas. He just seem more low profile to me for some reason, perhaps because kernel development got bumped by the IPOD in the news.

Articles pop up with him discussing linux and its future fairly often. Peruse Slashdot for pointers to the articles. I swear I actually just saw one recently.

There was a story about the kernel in the news once?

I figured he was busy kicking his own ass for not charging anything for his OS.

Maybe, maybe a short blurb when 2.6 was released, but... no, probably not even then.

Besides, Stallman makes for a better public spokesperson anyway.

Last I heard he lives in Portland.

Actually, I'm half-certain I saw him on the road on my way to work one day. It was a nerdy-looking guy in decent looking car with vanity plates that said "LINUS1" or something like that. I looked up some pictures of him, and it definitely could have been the driver.
