Bolt's 200 - Holy Cow!

Finally got to see it. Unfortunately I had heard the results earlier today.

Amazing run! Wow!

Off topic, I heard today that the tradition of the lighting the torch originated in the 1936 Olympics in Berlin yet we still go through the same ritual. Seems strange if that's true.

What I think it really amazing this that he averaged 9.65 seconds for each 100 meters of the 200m race, when he set a world record in the 100m at 9.69!

Just amazing.

He slowed down before the end of the 100... That blows my mind...

I'm always wondering what the 100 would be if he didn't slow down...

I'm just glad he didn't celebrate the last 15 meters or so of this race like he did in the 100 so we could see his true speed. The announcer speculated 9.59 had he not pulled up in the 100. That's a record that likely would have been around for a while.

I want to see a 400 meter time now!

This man is just a beast. When is the 400? If he's running it, I'm definitely going to watch it.

He's not in the 400. Finals are in 7 hours.

4 x 400 relay is my all-time favorite - to watch and run.

Definitely. When I ran track in high school I absolutely loved watching the 4 x 4 relay. I can't sprint a 400 for the life of me. Did you run track in high school, college, or both?

High School. My College didn't have a track team, or I would have kept going. 51.2 in the open, 50.1 relay split. That was soooooooooo long ago though. 31 years went by really quickly.

Wow, that was fast. It would have been cool if you kept with it.

Yes, but still 5-6 seconds too slow to be famous.

I would be a whole lot more impressed if Bolt were just a little more humble.

I don't take his attitude as being cocky myself. He's just a bit of a character.

And no, he doesn't run the 400 but is considering it in the future. This guy is not in his prime yet. How fast can he go? Chances are he'll be back for the 2012 games.

USA, it looks like we ran similar times in the same decade. Wanna race?

I totally understand and appreciate the sentiment, but I feel like when you set the world record, you've earned the right to be a little cocky.

I find it mildly amusing that a sprinter happens to have the name "Bolt".

I'd struggle to break 80 today... and I'd regret it the next 2 days
