    Current [Paid-for] Anti-Spyware Apps

I have been using Webroot SpySweeper for about three years now and I have had growing problems with it with my system so I want to change anti-spyware apps.

I prefer to use a paid subscription anti-spyware app since they provide real time protection as well as favorites and home page monitoring services. I am not aware of any freebies that provide this stuff.

So, since I have been out of the loop for a while, what are the best paid for anti-spyware apps out there right now? (I will use a freebie app if it provides the real time protection I mentioned above, rather than just scanning for crap after the fact.)

I know Ad-aware [used to] offers both free and paid-for anti-spyware apps, but that is all I know at the moment.

    Any thoughts appreciated.

SpySweeper seems to be lagging behind. I also subbed to it, then found it causing problems, so uninstalled.

Personally, I'd go for Sunbelt's VIPRE, Norton Endpoint Protection, or Norton 360 myself. They are taxing on older CPUs, but they offer complete protection. I like how Symantec Endpoint Protection uses the good parts of the old Sygate firewall code, as well as decent anti keylogger, and anti-bot protection.

This is what I'm using at the moment Shield Deluxe 2008

    http://www.pcsecurityshield.com/lp/s...FQv7agodpQVEkQ

Has Anti Virus, anti spyware and anti malware protection, for File, Web, Mail and ProActive Defence. After installing this app(I used to use Symantec Enterprise CLient), shield deluxe found at least 200+ problems on my machine that Norton either missed or wasn't able to find.

3 PC license for 39US pretty good. Product is good too, it is presently using 4Meg of Ram and no CPU on my PC. Norton or Mcafee would be using at least 100meg of ram and 15%+ of CPU resources.

What your probably best off doing is buying a good app and also using the free Ad-Aware and Spy-Bot to compliment your purchased software. No matter how good the Anti-Virus, spy or adware is it will always miss something, best off having more than one app to do that.

If you're using Windows, why not download Windows Defender?
We use the FSecure suite at work, and it's pretty dang good. Small memory footprint too.
