Most underrated films?

Jackie Brown (no, I'm not kidding)
The Best Man (very timely as we endure 2008 DNC and RNC)
Round Midnight

I'd think of more, but am falling asleep....

My favorite Dillinger is horribly under rated. Especially these days. Few people my age know of it.

+1 One of my go to flicks.

I'll throw in Eyes Wide Shut. Maddeningly entertaining.

Totally agree. It's even more entertaining when you realize that Kubrick made a porn flick and got away with it. He got the last laugh.

Once were Warriors - Independent flick from New Zealand
Lars and the Real Girl - quirky film, but I liked it

Here's another good one...

Layer Cake

Most likey ignored because of the hype surrounding Casino Royal which came out not so long afterwards but was hyped so long in advance.

I liked it better than Casino Royal.

Office Space.

No, really -- there's not a wasted line or moment in that film. Because it's a comedy, nobody notices how well-written it really is.

Clerks

Shot on an ultra low budget with many of the scenes captured with a single camera...I'm still in awe that the actors pulled it off. Sure, some of the monologues sounded a bit forced, but what do you expect for that little in wages?
