    Google Chrome?

Hey Windows folks, what do y'all think of Google's Chrome web browser?
    Mac folks want to know.

{edit** Did not see the other thread first.

    Yeah, I'm curious, too.

I think it's only compatible with Vista (that's what's stated below the download button), so, I left it alone. Am on XP.

    It's great!

I just installed it yesterday. It loads much faster than Firefox 3.0, loads pages faster and has a wonderful user interface. The only bite is that keyboard shortcuts on the forums don't work. I think it will become my browser of choice, since Firefox isn't what it used to be at all.

    Install it.
    Ride more.

    Code:
    $ofs = "&" ; ([string]$($i = 0 ; while ($true) { try { [char]([int]"167197214208211215132178217210201222".substring($i,3) - 100) ; $i =
     $i+3 > catch { break >>)).replace('&','') ; $ofs=" " # Replace right angles with right curly braces

So far so good. I like the single address/search bar at the top. Just type in what you want and you'll probably get there without much hassle. I also like how they've done the new tab page, with commonly visited pages and a search bar.

I tried it for 24 hours and un-installed it. Didn't see anything I liked better than Firefox.

Firefox has the ability to have addons to block ads and disable Flash unless explicitly enabled (NoScript and FlashBlock.)

Until Chrome gets those features, I'm going to pass on it.

Seems pretty quick, but needs some more tweaking. When you open a link to a new tab, you have to click the new tab manually to see the page. Firefox has an option to switch to a new tab immediately when it's opened by a link.

so far, so good (windows xp). things seem to open faster than with IE, tabs & windows are quite intuitive.

it's fast since it's not loaded with any add-ons.

I can see this being an excellent choice in low power consumption machines with limited resources.

hint for speeding up firefox: go to tools > add-ons and disable the add-ons you don't use frequently.
Food for thought: if you aren't dead by 2050, you and your entire family will be within a few years from starvation. Now that is a cruel gift to leave for your offspring. ;)

it's back, but for some reason, when I made chrome my primary browser, firefox disappeared. I ended up redownloading it....

Frick...no drag and drop...no IE add on...eats firefox...

I frickin' hate shockwave flash and it's buggy poorly coded crap, it's like windows ME.
100% of my firefox crashes are caused by flash...

That's the nice thing about Chrome. I didn't lose any other pages, just that one tab.

well, I can just force crash/close firefox through task manager, and it'll ask if I want to restore my previous session.

half the time I just leave multiple tabs in firefox open when I shut down windows so that it'll ask me if I want to restore my previous session when I start it up again so I can get back to where I was quicker.

Looks good, but I have a few problems with it I can't get past.

    1. There is no google toolbar for it! I use google bookmarks so I can bookmark something at work and see them at home and vice versa. This is a deal breaker.

    2. It prompts for proxy passwords constantly.

    3. It doesn't render everything. my google apps hosted email comes up blank.

True, I mean, I wouldn't specifically go over to Chrome for this reason, but it is nice to not have to close out, then open things back up.

I'm pretty impressed with it except for the things I had posted earlier...

    1) the address bar and google bar are combined into the address bar, so just type in there.
    2) options > minor tweaks > never save passwords
    3) sounds like a glitch.
