Hey there, mister window fixer guy! I understand the faster you get from job to job, the more money you can make. I don't want to slow you down, but when you forced me into the gutter yesterday, I was a little put out. I know the road construction turned the bike lane into a car lane, and I know you saw me riding my bicycle, and I know you probably saved some time by nearly sideswiping me, but was the 10 seconds or so you saved through the 300 feet of construction really worth nearly injuring me or maybe worse?
I only ask this because I was on the MUP today, and I came up on a person walking, a person behind jogging, and a cyclist coming the other direction. If I had been like you, I probably should have snuck past the jogger and walker, maybe even force them onto the grass, so I could save those precious few seconds. I didn't, though. And do you know why, mister window fixer guy? I understand that there are many users on the MUP who all differ greatly in speed and maneuverability. I don't "own" the MUP more than any other user, just as you don't "own" the road more than me.
So next time you come across a cyclist "in your way," touch that brake pedal. It's ok to slow down and get behind a cyclist. You may be held up for a number of seconds, but you also may avoid an accident that could ruin someone else's life.
And since mister window fixer guy isn't reading this forum...**** YOU *******
