Band you like that nobody has heard of?

Everyone has this, a band they like that is esoteric, and a relative few have heard of them. What is yours?

Mine... The Kovenant. The only real way to describe their music is "space metal".

I have more than one.

Yothu Yindi

or Hevia

or DD Smash

Actually, they are all fairly mainstream. I don't have any really eclectic music tastes.

Head East. Used to be pretty popular, but either all their other fans have forgotten them or died.
Love this band.

Adrian Legg. Acoustic guitarist with a twist (he uses banjo pegs and uses tuning changes during songs as part of the sound), and he tells funny stories between songs. Don't know if he's as good as he was 10 yrs ago when Guitarist magazine had him as the "guitarist of the decade," but when I last saw him about 7yrs ago, *wow*.

Level of Significance. Ooops, wait, that was my band in HS (yes, we were nerds).

Uhhh...I like Rivermaya. They're pretty big in the RP, but y'all have probably never heard of them.

I suspect someone (their parents and friends, for instance) has actually heard of them, tho....

These guys used to play at my bar all the time.
Gotta love a group that has a rocking chair on stage.

Love this band.
Hey MV... Don't despair, there is still one other fan out here. Just started hearing the opening organ riff for "Never Been Any Reason" running through my head.

They were actually the opening act at the first concert I ever went to back in the day (other than a couple of free open air concerts). Head East, Foghat and The J. Geils Band. We had a long drive back to base, and work early the next morning, so we actually left after Foghat played.

Just reminded me, Flat as a Pancake should probably be on the Album Cover thread... at least as far as I'm concerned. I'll admit, it is the only CD of theirs that I have. And I think it is the only album I had too.

And I just did a quick search... They still play a few concerts a year: http://www.head-east.com/
