My Parent's minivan got keyed

While I was the one using it. I took the minivan to haul me and my bike down to the group ride. We left at 6 and went for 36 miles of hammertime. When we got back, all of us who drove found nice, long key marks on our cars. And we were the only ones who got keyed. None of the other cars in the parking lot got it. So we called the Akron police and the Cuyahoga Valley Rangers. Akron never showed up, but the Rangers sent 3 guys out, which was nice. They did what they could, take pictures and personal info and the like, but all us knew that there really wasn't anything they could do about it, except patrol through there more often.

My parent's are cool with it. I'm going to buy some wax and scratch buffing stuff and get rid of the key marks, along with changing the brakes. It seems like we ticked someone off on one of our rides and they saw the team kits and found out where we meet. And the ride wasn't free of cagers either. We got honked at a few times, and one guy just laid on the horn forever. So if you live west of Akron, Ohio and see a red pickup with a red cap over the bed, avoid that vehicle at all costs. Although he probably wasn't the one to do it. But who knows.

Friggin vandals.

They should give guns to the rangers.

At least something would get enforced around there.

Sucks. I see that a lot in the city. Had that done to a couple of my cars over the years - unfortunately each time it was done with a vengence where there was a nice long dent into the metal - so someone really laid themselves into it. I threw a hissy, had it fixed and really hoped that the person who did it would have that done 10X worse. *****'s

<edit>

ok

sometimes I get the urge to key cars with mah frame pump, but then I just throw the contents of my water bottle at them instead.

Lance: Still got your Malibu?
Vincent: Aw, man. You know what some ****er did the other day?
Lance: What?
Vincent: ****ing keyed it.
Lance: Oh, man, that's ****ed up.
Vincent: Tell me about it. I had it in storage for three years, it was out for five days and some dickless piece of **** ****ed with it.
Lance: They should be ****ing killed. No trial, no jury, straight to execution.
Vincent: Boy, I wish I could've caught him doing it. I'd have given anything to catch that ******* doing it. It'd been worth him doing it just so I could've caught him doing it.
Lance: What a ****er!
Vincent: What's more chicken**** than ****ing with a man's automobile? I mean, don't **** with another man's vehicle.
Lance: You don't do it.
Vincent: It's just against the rules.

I hope they catch the piece of trash who did that. If the key job costs over $1000 (a complete paint job is more than that easily, not to mention replacement panels because of the damage done to the metal), and they find the perp, that's a felony right there (malicious mischief).
