Month of Mud

Month of Mud

Do I do it this year, or wait until next? Never raced before.

do it. Who knows. You may not be able to do it again (you get smeared by a Suburban, ww3 destroys the planet, Pcad takes over the world). Just do it. And let us know how you did.

Mental block...got injured last month, 4 days w/ cellulitis after a huck misfire...family obligations, etc. etc...questions about fitness...then again, if I did it and don't DNF or DFL, that would be a satisfactory result...gotta think...that would piss me off if there was a zombie apocalypse if I put it off...

Hmmmmmm....

There's always a million reasons not to do something.

Alright...I'm in. Will race the last of the series on October 12th...will try not to dwell on the possibility of DFL or DNF, and yes, I had to check w/ upper management. This actually was on my cycling journal list of goals or s**t to do for the last year, I've made most of them, so far.

Honestly, it's been one of my short term goals to race for fun...been reading too many Ned Overend books that say, "If you only do it once, you have to race." I'll post a ride report here, I know, Foo faux pas...

Trail Biking: There is a six-mile loop trail for mountain bikes on the NorthShore. Trailheads are located off of Mt. Union Road and Alexander Ridge Road.

CAUTION!
  • The six-mile trail bike trail can be hazardous.
  • Some slopes are steep and there are rough surfaces and slippery areas.
  • The trail is for experienced off-road riders in good physical condition who have equipment for off-road riding.
  • Bikers ride bike trails at their own risk.
I'm vaguely getting that feeling I had before the epic 2000 trip w/ the fiancee at the time, wife now.

Voice in my head - "How bad could it possibly be? Couldn't be that bad, right?"

I'm going to engage in Jedi battle meditation for the next two days.

Wish me luck.
