Yup, i posted under the suspicion of something that was just confirmed.

I had interviewed for a job i really wanted with The United Way. The position involved running marketing campaigns for the organization and reaching out to the community to foster donations.

I lost it to a person who has been doing it for 15 years and was unconcerned with income/benefits and merely wanted to relocate in the area. Hard to compete with experience when you have next to none.

The positive is that he (executive of the local UW) did tell me why i was passed over and also told me he would pass my resume around. Given that the United Way is, essentially, the central hub for all the non-profits in the area...this is a good thing since it is an area i would like to get into.
