Long, boring telcons.....

Long, boring telcons.....that you have nothing to contribute to, but "must" sit through.

Don't they just suck?

Better than "training" that sucks. At least they can't see that you're bored, plus you can read something else.

Here's what you need:

www. bull s h i t bingo .net (you'll have to remove the spaces)

Just print out and bring to the next meeting or conference you need to go to.

Bring multiple copies for your coworkers for extra schnitzngiggelz.

My old boss (ironically the same one running this telcon) used to pass out the bingo sheets himself for his meetings. Only he called it "Buzzword bingo".

Well, they broke to get lunch and I bailed (for rest of today's meeting) now anyway.

I hate sitting through one of those things, with the mute button on... doing other work, surfing the web, or otherwise paying attention... Then, the fateful words, "Eric, what is your position on that?"

Ummmmm...

The yearly hazmat training session is going on today, and our EH&S team doesn't seem to find the problem with using the lunchroom as a training conference room.

"Well, we take a half hour break for lunch and people can come in and eat then."

Sure we can... At 1pm when you break. I got here at 6am, shipdit. I go home at 2:30; I am NOT waiting until 1pm for lunch.

There's lots of continuity when you create some synergy through teamwork and strategic planning.

What do you think I was doing when I posted this thread in the first place? Except I have a headset, so the speaker thing was not necessary (I'm sure my cube neighbors are thankful for that).

Trying to keep from nodding off on another telcon now. At least this one is only an hour long (41 minutes into it now).

I sorta got busted for falling asleep during a phone conference. I was breathing kinda hard..not snoring, just breathing. Till I heard someone say really loud: "Who da hell is sleeping?". Of course that jolted me out of my slumber and I answered: "Huh? I'm up, I'm up." And then everyone started to laugh. The big boss was upset so I never really admitted to it. Sorta.

There is a guy that is single handedly responsible for extending our weekly calls by 45 minutes from nonsensical questions and conversations. We all went to Denver a few weeks back for a class and had a team building exercise that consisted of paintballing. Let's just say that he got shot a "few" more times that everyone else.

Back on again.....this thing is only an hour long, but GOD is it dragging.

And we are doing a 'launch' again in about 2 weeks....that will be 3 days of ALL-DAY telcons. Ugh!
