weezer

who's got weezer love?
i do! i do!

heading to the concert tonight in st paul (my top #1 all time favorite band!). need a little vacation from the house. going with my good friend, "BF in training" who I honestly think is a little freaked out thinking I'm going to be a mess. I'm doing ok. Kind of riding an emotional rollercoaster, but not like I'm going to burst waterworks at any minute. thats all. probably didn't warrant its on thread, but here it is.

green and blue are my favs.
the last weezer concert I attended I was barely old enough to drive myself there- probably 6 years after green and blue came out, but they still played all the classics- hoping such is the case tonight, because I haven't been as into their albums in the last (cough) 6 years.

actually, i think im going to discover I feel like a chaperone, and this is probably the last concert I'll buy floor tix too. At least, thats how I felt at Jack Johnson when the whole crowd was underage and trying to steal my beer.

Pinkerton is very awesome. It can be challenging to some pop-music-ears though.

You take your car to work.

I'll take my board bike.

And when you're out of fuel, I'm... uhh... Really, really tired, but at the top of a mountain taking in the view and the complete silence, and feeling accomplished.

(I would be a horrible songwriter.)

Does anyone remember the old Windows 3.1 system CD? It had the Buddy Holly music video on it. I found that video in 3rd grade and have been a huge fan ever since. Blue and Pinkerton are both timeless albums.

A huge moment in my teenage years was seeing Ozma, The Getup Kids, and Weezer in Detroit. Another great one was Jimmy Eat World, Dashboard Confessional, and Weezer. Those were the days...

Weezer are very cool.
Enjoy yourself. The BF in Training can fend off all the underage beer stealers for you.

Blue Album=in my top 5 of all time.
Weezer's also my favorite band. I saw them about four years ago (I need to go again!), the concert rawked my face off (oh yeah, you saw what I did there..."rawked"...)
Have a great time, artifice, relax, and enjoy it, do something nice for YOU because YOU need it and deserve it. Best wishes always.

you know what? the band keeps getting older and the crowd stays the same age. 90% of the population was 18 and under (OK, I still insist on being front and center, and spent most of the night on the mosh pit-- yeah, there was a mosh pit and crowd surfing-- at weezer, what?!). I feel somewhat like I got hit by a truck, verification I'm old.

they ended with buddy holly
they also rocked it with hash pipe, say it aint so, island in the sun, knock down drag out, my name is jonas, ahhh... and many more goodies.

night foo.

COOL!

I thought about you because here in the middle of nowhere (seriously), the place almost the furthest in the world from an English-speaking country, in a tiny, cramped underground club, the DJ put on 'My Name is Jonas' in the middle of his set and I almost screamed the place down. [/emo]

I noticed that too. I was parking at a lot near the Xcel center last night (friend was married at the Landmark center) and all of the people who were going to the Weezer concert looked very young. Weezer was a popular band when I was in college 10 years ago and I'm surprised they still have such a young following.
