Titanium Club ?

There's some titanium club thing, but I can't read any of the posts there because I'm not a member. But how can I find out how to become a member if I can't read any of the posts ?? Is there a secret handshake ?

Yes, join us in becoming one of the elite. Then you must type with your pinky in the air.

If I got a year membership to the titanium club, would I lose both the ti and the red star after the year was up?

No, you get to keep the star. This was covered in another thread, but I don't remember which one.

I got that it referred to the winners of the contest, not necessarily anyone who purchases the new membership.

The true elite go for carbon. Much lighter and better bang for the buck. As proof, no one would buy a ti fork for a CF, steel, or Al bike. Curiously, most riders of these frame materials will take a carbon fork given the opportunity....

They do have to let an Admin know they upgraded from red to Ti, so we can add the red star back in as a secondary user group to preserve it.

It's such an exclusive club, there's all of 28 threads in the forum. I'm sure they're worth paying to read....

Get adblock and save the $49
I'm with ya... I haven't had ads on here since, well, since I joined. Before switching to Firefox (and AdBlock), I used a thing called Proximotron. Blocked ads, scripts, resizing, whatever. I still use it if I have to resort to IE.

I just recently jointed JeepForums and they're even worse. Pay to join and you don't get ads, of course. But beyond that, you also can't post pictures if you're not a member (though typically if you post the link, a member usually quotes your post and then the picture shows up). You can't have an avatar if you don't join and, I guess they have their own Ti type forum(s).

Without being a member, you can post and read (most of the threads, anyway), but that's about it.

hear hear. i never understand why people find ads intrusive. if i don't see them i might not see the occasional interesting product.

if it's ad funded and free membership, you could probably get more income than paid membership only with smaller membership. so i don't feel second class by not paying, i contribute by giving advertisers my eyeballs.

What is even funnier, 2 threads where moved out of the Ti club forum. Why pay money to post in a forum just to have it moved to a free forum. I'm sure it makes sense to someone, but not me.
