We are having FUN! - Gaming Consoles Thread

Today I bought a used Xbox, regular one, not the 360 (49.99). I also bought an additional copy of MechAssault 1 (2.99). My son already had another xbox and another copy of the game. We hooked them up to the home network and PEW PEW! We had a blast!

I also saw a copy of Mechassault 2 at 6.99, I'll probably get that one too. What other games are fun to play in multiplayer mode for the old xbox?

We also have a Wii and love to play Metroid III - Corruption.

I haven't had a game console since my original NES back in the 80s or whenever that was...

The only console I've ever owned is an N64. Oh, and an Odyssey 2.

I haven't had one since the old Atari 400!

AEO, my son really wants an xBox 360. If you want to sell, PM me.

I think the shipping would be outlandish from Toronto to Sacramento
like $30~40

farthest places from toronto within the continent is California.

Games that some of my friends and I used to play on XBox were Midtown Madness, Counterstrike, and Unreal Championship. I can't remember how well those games scaled when you only have 2 players tho'. UC and Counterstrike both have "bots" that you can set to help bolster the numbers, but I can't remember if either allowed you to have bots intermixed w/ humans on the same team. (otherwise at best it's 2v2)

Trying to remember others, but it's been a loong while since I fired that thing up.

I owned a NES, took a long break then got a Playstation 2, because I didn't have a DVD player either. Not a big video game guy but when school's out I like them a lot. I've become a Final Fantasy junky and will probably get a PS3 when FFXIII comes out. Also because I don't have a BluRay player, either.

My favorites for PS2:

the Ratchet and Clank series, God of War, Final Fantasy X and XII, Katamari Damacy, and any fighting game like Tekken and such.

I play all the NES games on PC...

I like how I can make it FFWD, pause and quick save over the original

My brother had the video game consoles when I was a kid. I'd watch and play a bit since I have the thumb coordination of a cat. Recently I inherited a Gamecube and a couple of games. I haven't played them much but that's because the weather is still too nice to hang out at home.

I'm trying to figure out if I should buy a Wii, a Playstation 3, or a hand held Nintendo DS or the PSP.

I started with a Nintendo. The first one.

Then I switched to PC gaming with Quakeworld. Then Quakeworld Team Fortress. Then Counter-Strike.

It's still Counter-Strike, but all of the Sony Playstation consoles have made their way in because of the SOCOM series and the Gran Turismo series.

Lets see, i have an NES, SNES, N64, Gamecube, Wii, Gameboy, Gameboy Advance SP, Nintendo DS, and a PS2.

The NES still works too (includes the Zapper and Power Pad), just needs the occasional TLC to keep the cartridges and slot clean.

I own a DS, Gamecube, Xbox 360, Wii, and a couple other older systems stashed in a closet somewhere.

Folks who aren't what most would consider "avid gamers" seem to really enjoy the Wii. It's great for parties, and kids, and it's extremely easy to use. The Wii Fit is wildly popular as well, though honestly I'm not a fan. Many regular gamers and adults enjoy it as well.

DS is a great system, which somehow has made in appearance in the handbags of an older generation, with games such as Brain Age (includes Sudoku) and other games in that genre (memory-building, puzzles, crosswords, reflex-training). It appeals to all types really, my son likes to play Mario and my wife likes to play Zelda on it. A new DS is about to be released, so some older DSs might become available at a great price.

PS3 or Xbox 360 (price just dropped!) are worth it if you like awesome graphics, intense gameplay, online multiplayer, racing, shooting, sports, etc.

I have no experience with the PSP

We have a wii and a ps2. The ps2 is attached to a tv that does not work.
My son and I love the wii. Metroid 3 is our current addiction.
Getting beat up on by my son at Smash Brothers is fun. He plays super mario galaxy as well.
I think our next game will be mario kart.

I have a Super Nintendo that my son and his friends sometimes play with.

I also have a Nintendo Wii. Currently my addiction is for the Lego games (Star Wars The Complete Saga, Indiana Jones; Batman). My son likes Super Mario Smash Bros., Super Mario Galaxy...basically anything with Mario and Luigi. Mario Kart is great, you don't need to buy second wheels, but it helps.

He also has a Nintendo DS Lite.
