Tribute to an NFL BEAST

Was messin' around on youtube tonight and found this:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tdvVaTbwMrE

Man, this guy was just a freak. I saw him drive entire defenses - as in all 11 players at once - 5 yards down the field. Even if you didn't watch the game you got goosebumps watching him play. I also met him in person a few times. Ever seen 34" thighs in person?

When I first started watching football, he was my favorite, followed by Walter Payton. I tried to get 34 as a number in every sport I played after that.

i live in michigan...i'm a barry sanders fan. simply way too much fun to watch! seems like every other time he touched the ball, it was highlight material. and to think...he played his whole career with an offensive line that was rated bottom five in the NFL every single year...and he only had a passing game to help him about 3 years in his career, if that. sadly, the dude retired when he was still at the height of his game...

Do not go there - please.

Warfield was a great player... for the Browns.. with Jim Brown and LeRoy Kelly.

The dolphins (note the lower case d), are the lowest of the low. So sayeth the Bills fan.

btw - the greatest running back of all time was Eric Dickerson. Don't believe me? Just ask him.

If I saw Eric Campbell coming at me, I think I'd just let him go on by.

It has to be said...once upon a time, OJ was actually a decent athlete.

Anthony Davis wasn't too shabby either....

Campbell certainly was a beast. I was a big fan of his as well as Payton and Sanders. Too bad Bo Jackson wasn't a full time NFL player, he was pretty amazing as well.

My totally biased favorite was #44 though.

I think Earl for some reason gets overlooked a lot when people talk about the great running backs to play the game. Not sure why that is - I consider him and Barry to be the best to ever play. He was that lights out. I think for all his talent he was always kind of humble and didn't toot his own horn much. I don't recall him ever holding out for a contract dispute or demanding a trade.

his thighs (= 30 inches each) were one inch less circumference than my waist

let's hope the rose regains a somewhat decent ability to get around on his feet again someday
