    new iGoogle? Yea or Nay?

for U.S. users, IMHO, the new iGoogle 'Home' tab is plain awful and a waste of screen real estate...

my only option so far is to now use google.ca, as migration to the 'new and improved' igoogle won't take place for two weeks...

users are screaming bloody murder on blogs and google forums - apparently to no avail...

welcome to the new Google OverLord!

I like it. I get better info on the RSS links I have on the page, so I save time by not needing to click a link or hover a mouse over a link. The full page view for gadgets is pretty cool too.

It does take up a little more real estate, but the thing I hate worse (submitted it in their problem area) is all the space taken up by the theme area at top. They need to have some streamlined themes so its nothing but the Google logo and search bar rather than 3 1/2 inches of wasted space for a picture (which I don't even use....I use a "black" theme).

Hate it also. They could at least give you the option of choosing how many lines to display for each item in an RSS feed. I've had to go through and reduce the number of items to display for almost all my feeds. Just a mess. Hopefully it will improve.

I've never even dropped by iGoogle until pointed out by this post. I checked the two versions mentioned, and I can see why people hate the new one.

btw, i found an acceptable substitute for iGoogle: netvibes, which retains tab use and allows custom upper/lower background images...

Nay; primarily because there have been a couple of security issues reported.

I had to walk my sister through some spyware cleaning that got injected at the browser level. This may have been I-Frame, but in any case, someone reports it, I don't adopt until I see a two week stability window.
