The flu shot is robbing me of sleep! :(

Just got my flu shot today, and my injection site pain seems to be much worse than in previous years. Every time I try to roll over on my left side, it hurts, and I wake up. Blah, this is the suck, since I NEED sleep.

On the positive side, the actual injection didn't hurt at all because I had a nurse with a light touch. I'm usually bad with needles, but if all injections were like that I'd get over my fear of needles quickly.

Did anyone else get their flu shot yet? Complain/brag about it here!!

No, for I am young and virile/flue shots are only allowed for the healthy after the sick, seniors and children get theirs due to a shortage where I live.

I don't get flu shots. Every person I know that gets them end up getting the flu anyway. If I ever do (which is rare) I only get sick for 2 days at most.

Not exactly. The government is actually injecting a nano-size locator chip, giving them GPS location accuracy of your every move. Every year you get the "Flu-shot" they're injecting an upgrade of the chip.

Then I guess it's a good thing I've never gotten a flu shot. Besides, I already caught the flu for this year, so I'm good.

When I get the flu, I also get terrible asthma attacks, so I do need the flu shot. Without it, the experience is horrifying, but with it I get the nasty cold bugs but not the actual *really bad* flu that can knock me out for a week. At least, that has been my experience.

Not afraid of the shots, but I simply don't get the flu. Haven't had reverse peristalsis kick in for almost 19 years now. Unless you're frail and elderly, or especially susceptible, the shot is pointless, IMO.

I got mine this past Friday. No pain for the shot, and no pain afterwards either. Work gives them for free, as it does help cut down on sick days. I've been taking them for about 10 years, and no flu ever since. I used to get the flu every 3 or so years. Seems to usually work for me.

Getting mine in a couple of weeks thru work. Wish it was before that cause I am flying down to visit family this week and I almost always get a bug on the damn plane to Orlando....lots of Mickey ears and kiddie germs on those Disney flights

I did just get a tetanus shot the other day (ripped my leg up on the bike) and my arm was sore enough to hurt lying in bed the second night.

I get my flu shots free from Kaiser Permanente. If I had to pay for them I think would be rather reluctant to get them. But since it's free, the thrifty, penny-pinching part of my brain says--"Get it! It's FREE!!!!1! And good for you!!!"

Ewww, tetanus shots! Had to get them as part of the shots package to get into the US. I've had anti-rabies shots too, and those are also a PITA. *shudder*

None for me. Getting the flu is kinda like working out for my immune system. If i get it that is.

Besides, it also gives me a legit reason to call in sick to work. Sure i'll be miserable while i'm at home, but i can deal with it.

Just got my first tetnus shot since the '80's - something I needed to do esp from different bike boo boos (although I wished they had given me one when I was in for a punctured lung and multiple ribs broken - and the doc asked me when was the last time - and I told them the '80's - hell I had more pain killers in me - I would have welcomed it!) ...

And the nurse came back with TWO needles set up - my mouth hung open as I pointed silently at the two needles and that's when she plopped down all sorts of reading material on the flu shots, etc. All I asked are if she could combine two into one - I would consider it, but other than that NO! (hate needles - plus I'm not a big fan of flu shots).

So, no flu shot for moi!

Same story here. I have never gotten a flu shot and haven't had the flu since grade school. Wife gets a shot every year and gets the flu every year, too.

I am certainly not anti-vaccines, but for some reason the "flu shot" doesn't sit well with me. And the commercials that try to make you feel guilty for not getting one really irk me. Why not have commercials about not washing your hands after you poo? That would seem like a better focus of airtime.

Or washing your hands before using the restroom. I think that aspect is widely overlooked.

I got mine today at work just to prove a point. I told my coworker that the only times I've ever gotten the flu were the years I got a flu shot. He didn't believe me so I got the shot. If I hadn't gotten, and contracted the flu this year, he would have held it over my head. If I got the shot and still got the flu, I can hold it over his head and not have to go to work.
