    Go Phillies

I'm obviously not a huge fan, but go get those Ray's.

I know it sounds like sour grapes, but I swear the Sox were getting screwd on the pitch calls late in the game.

JD Drew got called out on strikes with the bases loaded(on a check swing), but in the next inning they gave us a makeup call when Mark Kotsay obviously offered at strike 3.

    F that ump.

Hopefully he'll lose his job over that. I can't be the only one that noticed it.

    Well, Lets go Philthy!

yeah, i've gotta admit, i'm pulling for the phillies now, too. not because i'm mad at the rays. it's because of the people down there. everybody in that stadium is just a fair-weather johnny-come-lately. they aren't true baseball fans. the rays led the toughest division in baseball, against the red sox and yankees, for more than half the season, and only averaged 22,000 a game in attendance. that's a place that doesn't care about baseball. unless they win the pennant. then, of course, they've been rays fans for years. yeah, right. they didn't even sell out the stadium for the first two games of this series. i don't think there's a true baseball fan anywhere in florida. i'm not rootin' against the rays, i'm rootin' against both of their fans

He doesn't get it, but thats okay.

I'm not that bummed, but I'm not happy.

the last to innings were a bit cheap IMO. If none of the sportstalk radio guy talk about the couple of $hitty calls at pivotal situations late in the game, I'll STFU but right now that game has me feeling bitter. The Devil Rays played great, I would never take that away from them, but much like the Superbowl, I'm left wondering how this happened.

Actually I do get it. Been a Phillies fan since 1980, it's just that I just don't see why you live and die based on how a post season series works out.

If you've been a Phillies fan since 1980, then you would understand why today is so exciting. I watched the Phillies win the World Series in 1980 in my parents' bedroom, with my brother and my parents. I was 11 years old. I'm now 39. I've watched thousands of Phillies games since then. I've been to dozens, if not hundreds, including all three World Series games in Philadelphia in 1993. I've suffered through years of last-place finishes, horrible trades, incompetent management, and heart-breaking moments.

Today is only the third time in my entire adult life that I've woken up in the morning knowing that by the end of the day, my team might win a championship. This is the first time in my adult life that I've woken up on the morning of a day when the Phillies have a chance to win it all.

I was at last night's game. It was just about the most exciting sporting event that I've ever been to. I literally cannot talk today from yelling at the game and cheering on the Phillies. After the win last night, the entire city was electric. Cars were honking their horns. People were celebrating in the streets. The entire city is ready to explode. It is a fantastic atmosphere.

If you think that is just about "how a post season series works out," then you really don't get it.

Chill out. It is only a game. That said, I am hoping the Phillies win tonight. Good for the state, and good to finally get baseball over with.

Absolutely. Can't have silly game of "fat guys standing around an occasionally running" preempting my favorite re-runs.

The 1980 Yankees have all retired now.

Notwithstanding, baseball is a lot more boring to watch than it is to play.

It may sound that way, but I was right to be sour. When a left handed batter checks his swing and it gets appealed , that appeal would go to the 3rd base umpire(not 1st base as done in this game). When officials change the outcome of a game(with blown calls) I'm infuriated.

If I had it my way, no team in Philadelphia would win a championship in my lifetime.

Philly fans suck and seeing them win a championship would pain me. Thankfully that hasn't happened since I was a wee child.

I've been watching with the sound off and tunes on the stereo instead. I'm not a fan of either team but admit to being partial to the Phillies.

the umps have made lousy calls going both ways now and it seemed like the plate ump was having trouble telling balls from strikes yesterday. I'd say more bad calls went for Phillie than against them in Sunday's game, the reverse of Saturday's game.
