Really nice dinner and give her a back massage (with no strings attached).

This may seem almost trivial, a 2 yr dating anniversary, but be careful my friend, many pitfalls await! This is dangerous ground you tread on, where the hunter may indeed become the hunted.

You see, the gift giving cycle is part of the sinister plans made by the wiley female of the species. First it's a simple necklace or bracelet, next thing you know you're married in the burbs with 2 kids, a Prius, and a failed mortgage.

So be careful, avoid the maelstrom of ever-increasing gift values, lest you wish to be another sucker pressured into buying a Xmas engagement ring. Keep it simple and lower in price this early in the game, but thoughtful.

Good luck soldier!

Take her on a nice weekend road trip. Do something she likes to do, or would enjoy...put some thought into it, for God sake.

Though this is funny, I agree with the idea of not setting that bar too high. Don't go all-out with the massage at a spa and/or jewelry, because every gift after that will suck. Plan a day outing like canoeing, a picnic at a park, something leisurely. Pic up some flowers yourself at the grocery store, and do the massage yourself (get the oil and wine and do it right).

I'm in the same boat as you man....my girlfriend and I will celebrate 2 years around Thanksgiving. I've been trying to think of something nice too.

I like the weekend road trip idea.

That I'm planning on doing right now....scanning Craigslist. However, I don't think she will consider that a good gift.

Huh - ours was in the summer - don't think we even remembered till after the fact. Now a wedding anniversary on the other hand - that I'd celebrate.

A basket of pampering products is always nice, especially if you offer to do the pampering! Include bubble bath/shower gel, massage oil, foot lotion, loofahs, aromatherapy candles...stuff like that. If she's anything like me (extreme workaholic), she will really appreciate it. Or even if she's not that stressed out, she will appreciate it.

Hmmm, maybe I should start dropping hints now about what I want teh bf to do on our two year anniversary (coming in February).
