BS in economics. What next?

I really need to start thinking about life after my undergrad days. I will be an economics major with a minor in writing, but possibly a double minor in writing and math. I'm paying quite a bit of money to attend this college, but I've justified it because I WILL be attending some sort of post-undergrad education. The likely choice will be a masters program in Economics.

Though, the question needs to be asked: What can one do with an MS in Economics?

I have always wanted to, at some point in my life, be a college professor. I don't think I'd want to do this right out of school, however. As such, I'm looking for what sort of career options would be available to me upon graduation. Will I be able to pay off the expected $80,000 of student loans with the choices available?

$80k isn't that much, and you can probably pay that off as long as you're not stupid with your money. Provided you can find a job...

At the risk of having this sent to P&R, all I'll say is with the mess we're all in right now...there's a very tough economic row to hoe for any leadership, degree or not.

You'll be able to pay it off, it's just a matter of how long it takes based upon the type of pay you'll get. I recently got a cab-ride from a guy with a PhD in Economics...
