Another problem is if I sold something I'd have to wait for a part to come in to ride my bike again and I know I wouldn't be able to get rid of everything. However, I could order the first part of the stuff now...

gotcha. This why the number of bikes one should own always = 1 more than you already have

Interesting. I'd still say cruiser for an adult though but that is just me. So I got an offer for $150 less than I put up. I'd still be able to get the dream bike at that price but it is just ...meh. I counteroffered and said I'd go cheaper if he could take it off my hands now other wise no.

Still nothing, I can't get a loan either. I might just buy important parts with the cash I have.

Is that seat actually wood or is it covering? Cause that would be awesome and painful at the same time.

I have decided if I don't like the person I won't sell it to them. I rather keep my bike then give it to someone I despise. This kid just made a low ball move, I called him an idiot and moved on.

I hate selling stuff but I like much better if:

- the money lets me buy something better for me
- my old item is going to a good home, a person I have a good feeling about....

sounds corny, but I like it.

It isn't a big deal if I sell it or not, I like it either way. I just thought, "Hey what the heck I got offers let's see what comes my way." I counteroffered the kids price and he counteroffered $100 lower of what he offered in the beginning.

Moran

unfortunately that is part of selling this stuff...you get plenty of people who are cool, nice smooth transactions....and then you get those idiots who waste your time.

heh - looking at the thread title again....last thing I sold on CL was the original wheelset for my 86' Trek road bike. I had a newer wheelset (actually brand new rear, older vintage front) as spare, so figured, get some dough for gifts, make room, enjoy new wheels, etc.

The dude who bought them was restoring an old Italian racing bike and went on and on how hard it was to find black rigida 36h rims blah blah. I put the seller's remorse out of my head, but then it seemed everywhere I turned I kept hearing how Those rims were the shizz and so forth....sigh.....

ah, what they hey. My new wheels are a bit faster and lighter. I like 'em better so far. And that guy looked so happy with the rigidas, so it's all good.

Hmmm...now you're tempting me That's a beautiful gtr. I miss Fenders....

I have been trying to sell a few of mine...it's a bad deal right now, no one's got $.

HOWever, brand names do count...I have an old Guild I know I'd do okay on...just don't wanna sell that one unless it's absolutely necessary. Point being you could probably sell your Strat no problemo, especially with that nice color. In fact, someone might buy something like that as a gift, which only helps you at this time of year...

If you need any help with pricing/listing it I've sold a gazillion gtrs before, so feel free to PM.
What is the amp model?

Amp is a peavey, still has the price tag lol. It is like $80ish dollars, I'll have to look. I have no problem selling the amp though.

Peavey should sell. esp. w/tag

The Fender will def. sell, no problem. Problem may be getting your price....but will be a lot easier to sell than your bike.

I highly recommend selling the gtr on ebay, btw. With lots of good photos....Use UPS to ship (worldwide) and you're good to go.

If you want to try a free ad, also try Harmony Central. Not sure if you can post pics there, but if so throw one up- yours is an unusual color, that jacks the price up.

My goodness, CL is a freaking joke. I got an email from some lady with 8 grandkids who can type to save her life and asked to take it for $40 and said to be Santa. Not be harsh or anything but I think it is complete bs.

it has been a freaking joke the past year or so...I was surprised I actually sold the wheels so quickly....I'd say at least half the emails you get are BS, no lie. Time wasting idiots and spam.

edit: PS- cute shiba story tonight - I'll save for the dog thread
