A Festivus for the Rest of Us!

Its that time of year. You know, when someone brings the singing-dancing santa into the office, and turns it on in the break room, but nobody has the heart to turn it off so you're stuck listening to "holly jolly christmas.. yeee haw" all day, and his gyrating hips haunt you in your sleep.

Instead, I propose to you: FESTIVUS.

Anyway... if you don't already know about Festivus, I suggest you read up.

Please share with foo your festivus poles, air your grievances (remember there is no required hugging or making up), display your feats of strength, or create a youtube video of your hula hoop endurance contest.

I should be able to post my festivus pole as soon as it arrives.

HAPPY FESTIVUS TO ALL!

I have been exclusively Festivinutian for several years now. I use my Repair stand for the "tree." And be sure to air your grievances BEFORE you do the feats of strength. Not nearly as satisfying the other way around.

Its a Festivus miracle!

Ahh, the smell of freshly baked grievances are wafting in on the breeze. Smells like festivus.

Anyone want to challenge ol' jsharr to a feat of strenght?

Any grievances to air? Oh please, I have been grievance-fasting for 3 months now, saving it all up for a spectacular holiday show. And nothing makes the FoS as festive as freshly wounded pride.

And I was not kidding about getting out the ol' yule repair stand and dressing it up for the holidays. I even have my kids thinking that it is a normal way to celebrate.

I would like to pose a feat of strength between you, modovincere and wordbiker. whomever posts next in threadkillers is the weakest link.

That's excellent.

An xmas tree just went up in the office at work. I may have to find a aluminum pole to respect the differently-faithed (me).

I believe my boss is bringing the festivus pole.
being fairly new, I try not to stir the pot, but gladly encourage others.

I'm pretty sure we are the "weird pod of cubes" anyway, as we've removed all the flourescent lighting above our cubes and sit like mushrooms in the dark, damp office... but we have a disco ball for special occasions.

Could it even be considered an office without a disco ball? I propose that it could not.

In NY, we know Festivus well!

Festivus can be a bike:

It could be the airing of grievances, which seems to occur daily, here in NYC:

It could also be what you want to do with the Festivus Pole:

Grievance: You people that hammer on BD need to stop. It is tiresome, and you do not need to share your feelings every time a thread mentions them. Roadies are loathsome with their constant threads on what does and does not look right when riding, and their air of superiority. Classic & Vintage. I am happy that you take perverse pride in shunning anything new with luddite vigor, but keep it to yourself. A&S: Need I say more?

Can I use a motorized hula hoop that attaches to a belt?
