Do you have a yee haw hanging on your car mirror?

...or any other trinket somewhere in your vehicle?

My SUV has a Hawaiian Lei hanging from the mirror and the T/A has my late beloved dog's collar around the steering column. Shorty has a big super ball and a small one in the bed. That way they bounce around when I'm driving.

What do you have and why?

Nah. I don't like things interfering with my vision. Hell, the a-pillars of a lot of modern cars piss me off for that reason.

For the lei? Probably. I've always had somethingon the mirrors but I've never gotten tickets in all the cars I've owned. But right now I only have the SUV with something hanging on the mirror for the reason X stated.

I had a keychain with a picture of Bruce Lee in it hanging form the rear view mirror of a Chevelle I used to have.

Why? 'Cuz I tend to always have a Bruce Lee-related trinket.

I don't own a motor vehicle anymore.

It was a heap (actually, both of them were) and I couldn't afford to give it the attention it needed. It went to a better home. Still miss it, though. It could set off car alarms with a blip of the throttle. Don't even want to think about how much it would cost me to feed that beast now, even with the drastic drop in petrol prices.

we used to but yeah, you can get tickets now so nothing for many years.

cute story - one time I was stuck in major bumper to bumper traffic going home from work...I was pissed, really letting it get to me. I had a boom box on but even my music was irritating rather than calming me.

suddenly I noticed the vehicle in front of me (station wagon perhaps?) had three young kids sitting in back and facing me. They were maybe aged 5-8 or so and rambunctious, as kids will be, laughing and carrying on. I thought, oh great, now I have to be sitting in a fishbowl for a bunch of brats. I tried to block them out while still watching the road (it was one of those annoying situs where we were rolling and stopping constantly, but only mm at a time)

Suddenly I became aware that the kids were laughing and pointing at me. What on earth was this about I wondered? Then it dawned on me - I had a Daffy Duck air freshener hanging from my mirror. It was two sided, and they were seeing the main side which was a basic picture of him. The other side, facing me, was this bizarre extreme close up depiction of just his face with these freaky LSD type rays emanating and a wild look on his face. It was pretty funny and the only reason i'd bought it.

I knew the kids would get a kick out of it, so I made a big pantomime production out of it and eventually flipped it over with a flourish - the looks on their faces (surprise, then laughter and glee) was just so sweet I started laughing myself.....I popped a different tape in the boom box and enjoyed the hell out of the rest of that traffic jam

another time we were driving out of state somewhere (New England?) and at that time we had two cars and the wife (then gf) and I had these little matching plastic frogs hanging from our mirrors.

we were cruising along when suddenly someone pulled up alongside us at 55mph and started waving frantically to get our attention. we figured our wheel was falling off or something, but it turned out they were all happy cause they had the same frog on their mirror and had to point this out to us. Rock on, frog buddy!

A plastic shark although that is mainly to comply with the ridiculous regulation for a bell (it's a "horn" squeeky toy for kids bikes) That and a Millennium bear that I picked up alongside the road. Oh, and handlebars, not rearview mirror

My wife had a McDonalds Lego Batman, but we lost that riding by the Welland canal. Must have seen a crime in progress and jumped off.

That one was a '70 (the Chevelle's finest model-year in my opinion) with a 454 from a truck and a TH-350 auto trans. White with a black vinyl top.

I had one before that, as well. It was a '72 (ugly, all downhill after 1970) with a 350 also with a TH-350 automatic. It was rattle-can blue.

As a side note, I hate driving automatics now.

Provincial Parks Pass

National Parks Pass

A sticht plate . A Sticht plate is a very old climbing belay device ( they aren't made anymore). Because I am a climber. That, and because I can't fit a sabre or fencing mask on my rear view mirror

I've got a greyhound turnout muzzle on the gearshift in my Taurus (console shift), since I only need it when I take Arthur out of my house, and in my Olds, on the PS remote mirror control, I have a keychain that my late grandmother gave me (an original 1983 Oldsmobile dealer keychain), as well as a ribbon on the turn signal stalk given to me by my first girlfriend at the car's first drag race.

Nothing on the rearview, simply because I hate stuff on the windshield. I do have a quadrajet for a doorstop in my classroom though.
