Am I the only one?

Who doesn't blast music at peak volume constantly?

Who chews with his mouth closed?

Who understands that a car's throttle is actually variable, not an on/off switch?

Who doesn't think that being outside in the winter is an immediate death sentence?

Just curious, because I'm starting think I am.

Okay, I mainly started this thread because my neighbor is blasting some horrible music very loudly, and when eating lunch with my coworkers today, I noticed they ALL chew like 4 year old children.

wolfie's avatar reminded me - why do all motorcyclists rev the throttle in neutral when stopped at a light? People don't typically do it in cars (well, there was that old '67 Galaxie with the screwdriver holding the choke open that needed help when idling, but you know), so why on bikes?

Vroom vroom = macho, macho ma-aann?

I rode a motorcycle for 10 years and I never figured out why people do that. I never felt the need to be a d-bag.

exactly. I tried to keep my bike running smoothly - and I found myself doing it at first....I stopped that immediately.

Being outside in winter is tolerable if there is a ski lift nearby.

I've found that one of the best side effects of good audio equipment is that you don't have to turn it up nearly as loud to hear (or try to hear) the details. As far as I know, I chew with my mouth closed. My mastery of the throttle lets me get 20+ MPG out of a full-sized, big-V8-ed pickup truck. I love the winter.

I don't, unless I'm trying to help out the choke on a cold morning (and even then, it's to 3-4k RPM, not 13-14k).

In the last days of my old car, I had to rev it to keep it from dying sometimes, but there's no way to be macho in a small, mid-80s sedan with 13" wheels and gold paint.

Heck, I've ridden home in rain/sleet nastiness the last couple of nights and I'm not dead. In fact I'm the only person at work who isn't always coughing up a lung.

How about a late 70s coupe with 15" wheels and gold paint?
