Which is better?

So I want to see what other people think, is milk chocolate or dark chocolate better?

ModoVincere 12-23-08 12:39 PM

better for what?

poptart38247 12-23-08 12:49 PM

Taste

CbadRider 12-23-08 12:51 PM

IMHO
General eating and baking - dark chocolate, the more cacao the better
Chocolate bunnies at Easter - milk chocolate

baking - dark or semi dark

romantic interlude? - hershey's syrup.:innocent:

Dark.

ms.gio 12-23-08 03:37 PM

Dark chocolate is more healthy for you.

fearfeasog 12-23-08 03:46 PM

milk has no place in chocolate, imo. and dark MUST be eaten while sipping a nice wine. period.

Little Darwin 12-23-08 03:47 PM

I voted "It doesn't matter" even though techically it does matter...

It all depends on my mood, and somewhat on the specific chocolate.

bckpck2rev 12-23-08 03:48 PM

you should have an extra dark (or bittersweet) line...dark chocolate comes in many strengths, the more cacao the better the chocolate. I would have selected extra dark, just bought a bar listed at 82 percent cacao.

cyclokitty 12-23-08 03:48 PM

I don't discriminate. I'll inhale either, both. Gimme!

I don't understand the question; is low-quality chocolate worse than indeterminate-quality chocolate? And is either less fun than the other to eat under particular circumstances?

peabodypride 12-23-08 05:55 PM

I don't understand how people can be snobby about the most basic things. I like milk chocolate alone. I don't care about the quality or having it with wine. It tastes good.

monogodo 12-23-08 06:04 PM

<can of worms>

What about white chocolate?

</can of worms>

Lamplight 12-23-08 06:18 PM

I prefer dark chocolate but I certainly have no problems with most milk chocolate (though I've had some that was pathetic). On the other hand, I don't really care for white chocolate at all. I've also found some dark chocolate just too bitter for me. Anything above about 70-ish seems to lean toward too bitter for my personal taste.

FlyingAnchor 12-23-08 08:44 PM

White chocolate is an oxymoran. :)

But, give me dark almost all the time with milk chocolate as the one that proves the point.

Steven

If you didn't have milk chocolate you would have no comparison to prove dark is best.

Once you have really good quality chocolate you realize that the cheap stuff tastes like wax. I don't like Hershey bars any more for this very reason.

Siu Blue Wind 12-23-08 08:58 PM

Maybe I just haven't had any really good chocolate. :(

I didn't include white chocolate because it really isn't chocolate.

x136 12-23-08 09:05 PM

I can appreciate both, but you just can't beat a good dark chocolate.
