she took me home...

I rode into work last night, first time I laid the bike down because of ICE, which turned to rain mid-ride and I got soaked. Well this chica I have been involved with came down and hung out with me at work. Long story short she took me home after work, I told her thanks but she can't come in because my place is disgusting...which it is. Do the ladies really care what kind of filth some men can let their place get to? I think she wanted to come up and well IMHO I think I blew it...

As long as you ain't got no funk around or old food on dishes from last week you should be good.

Siu Blue Wind 12-24-08 10:24 AM

Oh and the toilet should be clean. No dried yellow stuff around the porcelain or anything. That's hella nasty.

Siu Blue Wind 12-24-08 10:25 AM

OH and ladies undies randomly strewn around ain't cool either.

Siu Blue Wind 12-24-08 10:25 AM

or used raincoats IFyaknowwhatImean...

Blew it? No. I think a mere misstep. You owe her a favor. Get to it and I'll bet you can get things back on track.

bckpck2rev 12-24-08 10:28 AM

It has been pouring for 12 hours, so only one raincoat and the ladies undies are not mine...:innocent:

CbadRider 12-24-08 10:29 AM

Ask her if you can take her to lunch to make up for it. :D

edbikebabe 12-24-08 10:29 AM

Yeah, we care. Not if it is messy - but if it's dirty, clean it up a bit.

You didn't mess things up with her. Clean your place up & invite her over to watch a movie or something. That way she won't think you are secretly running a ***** house or have a drug lab or something....

crdean1 12-24-08 10:40 AM

If you are looking for some motivation to clean your place, you have it.

Now you can call her and say that you cleaned it up nice because you want to have her over and cook dinner. If you had blew it, you would now have it back, so to speak.

Definitely take a shot if think both sides seem interested.

In a related note, I went through several months woman-free, and my house very much showed it. When the possibility of a female interloper arose recently, I had to go over the entire place.

Happy Festivus to all

Woman-free living and us boys let **** hit the fan, then boom it needs to be clean and it's not. I know what I am doing today....

Considering how most college men are with cleaning their dorms, I'd have to say that younger women probably don't care as much, but older women do. Either way, a clean room makes for a clean person, so I personally try to keep it clean.

And if she asked to come into your place, then you definitely didn't blow it. Either clean it up and invite her over when you're ready, or go to her place!

RubenX 12-25-08 02:59 AM

Thread needs pic of the room in question...

PATH 12-25-08 03:44 AM

Nah! We want to see chick pics!

Jerseysbest 12-25-08 08:16 AM

Instead of inviting her up you should have taken her out, right then. Not blown, you just now have an excuse to take her out

Gentlemen are tidy and organized.

End of moral of the story.

correct - this is a good incentive to be ready next time...and why not have a nicer place for yourself to live in?

she sounds sweet - I'd get to cleaning now and follow up with her pronto - good luck!:)

1. Cleanup your place.
2. Call her.
3. Explain that you feel bad about not inviting her in the other night, so you cleaned your place and now want to invite her over for lunch/drinks/whatever.

Find a nice restaurant, and perhaps rent a hotel room at a decent place such as a Holiday Inn with a good restaurant (don't tell her about the room until the time is right). Tell her that your place isn't at this time fit for man or beast, much less the fairer sex, so you made alternative arrangements for an intimate chat setting.
