I learned to juggle

I figured that this subject was foo worthy and thought I would share. At 54 years old I was having the PE class learn juggling and then they made me try to learn. Well after giving it a try it turns out I can juggle now. I never said I was/am good, but I can juggle three balls for a short time.

What expertise do we have here for juggling and what have you juggled?

Hmm, first a unicycle thread, now a juggling thread. Coincidence? Perhaps!

*watches out for a face painting thread*

Congrats. Juggling is a great zen activity.

Actually I met my wife in a Juggling Club back in the 80's. We both can unicycle, walk slack rope, blow fire, eat fire, juggle 5 balls fairly comfortably, juggle balls, clubs, fire torches, knives, etc. My wife is now into swinging poi.

I would recommend everyone learn how to juggle 3 balls. It's a great skill.

I can do 3 ball shaped objects with both hands or 2 with one hand. That's the limit of my skillz, though.

Yes, I can juggle two balls with one hand and the three with two but that is the extant of it. Some of the kids are pretty good and one in particular can juggle three and then kick one as in like a hacky sack.

I was told that juggling is an important skill to learn to help with your math skills. Seems it opens up pathways in the brain that math struggling students need opened. I went to a teachers conference a couple of months ago and one of the math seminars was all about juggling. Cool.

I can juggle 3 though I am out of practice right now. But my kids can still throw me random objects and I can keep them going for long enough to impress them. I used to be able to do 4 uniform-ish objects for a couple cycles or until I ran out of room to chase them around through but that is pretty much gone.

I would definitely like to take up unicycle.

I saw this guy juggle he was unfreaking believable:

Geez, I wish I could juggle! I've tried learning all sorts of ways from all sorts of people...Sir Isaac Newton just hates me.

That said, I do fire hoop, poi, staff, eating, and blasting. I am envious of your additional skills!

That is ironic. I thought you were going to post pics of yourself juggling great fireballs to Jerry Lee Lewis songs.

I taught myself to juggle while working night-shift job at a metal treating plant. We had tens of thousands of marshmallow-sized bushings to heat-treat, and I had plenty of time to kill between loading/unloading.

I guess it's best to learn with bean-bags 'cause they don't roll away when you drop them, but I'd just let the bushings roll away and grab more out of the bin.

Juggling is a great activity, I used to teach it to students at my wife's middle school during Ren Faire week. My best friend in HS taught me originally. It took me a few minutes to get it down. I also enjoy contact juggling, it's really cool once you learn a few moves. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Contact_juggling

I can juggle and could teach you to juggle with me sharing the juggled items.

Much easier than it looks too.

Then again there are those that can juggle chainsaws, don't ask me why.

And x I'm shocked that you are shocked at my being shocked. Giggle....

I showed my wife last night my skills and she was impressed. Juggling that is.
