The boy knew my daughter and it felt weird.

At the mall, my daughter was looking at purses (yeah, girls start doing that @ an early age). A toddler was passing by, riding on a shopping cart. The toddler spotted my girl and started waving while shouting my girl's name repeatedly. My girl turned and said hi, the toddler smiled and melted. My girl gave him the 'look'... the "yeah, I'm cute and I know it" look.

I'm guessing they know each other from day care. But last time my girl went to the day care was like a year ago. Yet, this boy remembered my girl's name. I didn't knew my girl had any social life.

It felt weird.

Yes. At the mall's entrance. You rent them for 3 bucks a day. 5 bucks for the dual-seater. The clerk keeps your driver's license so you don't forget to bring it back.

What you missed is the part where the kid made eye contact, put his pinky and thumb to his head, and mouthed "call me," before rolling off in his chromed-out pimpcart.

Yup! I raised two girls (now 20 and 23) and it was a whole lot of fun!

That's adorable.

You might as start practice your "Strict, unimpressed Daddy" look now.

You need to start now developing a reputation as irrational and unpredictable - somebody who doesn't play by the rules of society. This will be essential later.

You can practice by sitting in a rocking chair on the front porch, glaring at passerby while cleaning a gun or a sword.

I like it when our kids run into other kids we don't know. They do know more people in town than we do, it's fun.
