    any martial artist here ?

I had to give up kick boxing and judo and two years ago. Since adrenaline and stress are an issue for me.
I sorta want to get back into shape so on the off chance i can again, i will be ready. plus losing 30 pounds of muscle mass is a bit much. I have gone 8 days with out a seizure, that's sorta a record around this camp.

the last time i went to a fight night at a club it was american boxing (and I got beat due to an seizure in the first round), the problem with american boxing is funnily enough I can't, it requires me to give up everything I have spent the past several years learning. Plus with a torn rotator cuff I don't punch very hard off the left, I am thinking of fixing that and much as i can.

it is an old clip but you get the point.

I was like 140-150 pounds then

I have access to a heavy bag and a kicking bag, and when i first got out of the coma i got up 130 push ups. but i think it was mostly boredom

I started out with Okinawan Shorin Ryu but eventually evolved into MMA. I used to teach too but with my work hours it just wasn't working out.

I did 4 years of Kung Fu, 2 of Karate, a year or so of fencing, and another year ish of self defense classes. I consider the self defense classes, modeled after the US marine techniques, to be the most effective.

I studied Tae Kwon Do and Hap Ki Do for over 7 years. Tae Kwon Do will give you punching and kicking. Hap Ki Do is more self-defense stuff involving throws.

I think MV was on the right track with Tai Chi. You will get the strength and muscle coordination without the adrenaline rush.

two years of BJJ (Brazilian jiu jitsu for those of you out of the loop) and 3 years of Muy Thai. 3 years of varsity wrestling in High school (only two years ago for me) and I still wrestle in the occasional tournament.

Of the two martial arts I like BJJ the best. I think my wrestling background gives me a big advantage though since I am already to used to rolling around. Muy Thai is fun but its brutal on the body.

Are you looking for a martial art that is designed for fighting? I am thinking about trying out wu shu (not sure if thats spelled correctly). It's basically a martial art that is done for performance only. Lots of flips and jumping and such. Looked like alot of fun!

My response would have been something along the lines of: "Does your bike have computer controlled suspension? Then shut your piehole, this baby is from the future!"

I was into Kung Fu a VERY LONG time ago, cant even remember the style! Gosh Im old! Once we ran into some guys one day at Hunting Park doing this new BJJ, we watched them and thought it was cool, then the comment was made,"looks like thier dancing!?" the "main dude" got upset and asked us what can you do? So my buddys and I did our thing and the people clapped, the "main dude" was impressed and we had a good time, till after the crowd left and the main guy wanted to put his best student up against our best, it happened and sorry to say but their best BJJ guy got his arse handed to him
You see, their morals, their code...it's a bad joke, dropped at the first sign of trouble. They're only as good as the world allows them to be. I'll show you. When the chips are down, these...These "civilized" people...they'll eat each other. See, I'm not a monster. I'm just ahead of the curve

I studied Aikido for years in Japan, but don't do so here in California. It just felt too weird.
