I...went on a date earlier today. :twitchy: No, seriously! And we're meeting again in a couple of hours to see the outdoor movie on the village green.

Wordbiker 07-21-13 08:57 AM

I'm at the lake with the bike shop crew...dateless. Things aren't working out with the girl and she didn't come. Pretty sure it's all over. :(

It appears to me to be very similar to Bocci, except the broom part.

I suck at girls. I've got no game and I can't dance to save my life. :(

pammyb 07-26-13 05:56 PM

It's a Friday evening and I sit home alone. I suck at dudes I guess lol.

Sixty Fiver 07-26-13 09:53 PM

I am counting the Fridays until I do not have to spend them alone...

Had a terrible yet great date tonight. I knew it wasn't going anywhere on my part, even though she was up for anything. It made me realize that part of the process is learning to say No when you know it's not what you truly want. I bought her dinner and took her home, end of story. I am at peace.

That's one of the things I like about dating when you're older. You know what you want and what you don't want, and realize that the sun will still rise tomorrow even if things don't work out.

So that lasted one week. And I'm the one who ended it.

I'm too fat and don't make enough money to make up for it.

Yes I am bringing this thread back to life, I just wish I could bring my social life back to life. There was a time when I might have actually plans with a member of the opposite sex on a Friday night. But that almost seems like a lifetime ago.

I was going to get me a hot date tonight, but I thought my kids might text my wife at work and let her know. So, not a hot date, but I've got a gaming date. They want to play Texas Holdem for pennies. It's great, I'm taking all their pennies :D

I'm generally dateless, it's tough with working full-time and doing night school. I get an occasional date or two out of someone from the online dating sites, but none with any chemistry. Today a cute/smart girl very unexpectedly suggested we go on a date some time. Except I already dated her for a year before I started school and then she crushed me :( Probably not prudent to go there again.

Dating? What's that?

Wordbiker 11-10-13 08:24 AM

I just realized...it's been four months since I've been on a date. The closest I've come was yesterday when I had to go to the town two hours away where the last woman I was dating lives to get tires. I let her know I was coming and she met me for a beer. Nothing was weird about it, but it was very clear that the spark is completely extinguished.

Now I'm trying to work up the courage to ask the woman I bought jewelry from for my last girlfriend's birthday if she'd like to go out sometime. I've hesitated because we've been friends for a long time, nearly twenty years. For most of that she was married to my buddy, so of course I didn't even think of her in that way. When he died I was attracted, but involved, so again averted my eyes. When I bought the jewelry she asked me about rebuilding a set of stairs for her. I thought it might be her way of wanting me to be around, but I was already dating, so again my eyes looked away. Recently she tragically lost her son and I felt ghoulish taking advantage of her grieving yet again. Maybe it's been long enough now. She's exactly my age, one of the most beautiful women I've ever met, independent, we talk very easily and there's still that set of stairs...

Wordbiker 11-20-13 09:37 PM

OK, so my jeweler friend won't return my calls or texts.

I did go on a "date" last weekend, meaning I took a woman I'm only interested in as a friend to see George Clinton. We did have a lot of fun dancing, but it's clear she has zero romantic interest in me. She did like me buying her dinner and drinks though.

Cut to today. An acquaintance through the bike shop was advertising some bookshelves for free on Facebook. In the process of arranging to pick them up she let me know she'd dumped her boyfriend a month ago. I got new bookshelves and a date for the bike shop Christmas party. Have I mentioned she's fist-biting hot?
