    I'm a dork. Are you?

So, I'm at the library working on grading papers. I sit down, pull out the laptop & headphones, plug them in & put them in my ears. I've been here for nearly an hour and I have yet to turn on any music. I'm sitting here with headphones on and no music playing...and I only realized it just now. Of course, no one around me knows, but I feel a bit like a dork.

Anyone else got a similar dork move to share?

I jammed my fingers into a moving 3~4000rpm PC fan more than a few times.
Food for thought: if you aren't dead by 2050, you and your entire family will be within a few years from starvation. Now that is a cruel gift to leave for your offspring. ;)

I do that very thing darn near every day here at work. I click a link that I believe to be a video, so I put my headphones on. It turns out not to be a video, or I watch the quick video and its over. 30 minutes later I realize I'm still wearing headphones.

This makes me feel better. At least I know I'm not alone in doing this. I have now turned on music.

One time I was in a computer lab on campus just surfing the net and listening to music. I had my headphones on and I was just jamming in my own little world. After about an hour, I took my headphones off and realized the speakers (built into the monitor) were turned on. So everyone else in the lab had been hearing my music (quite loudly). I felt like an ass.

The U.P. is a slice of heaven. The people there are a different breed for certain, but one has to be a little different to survive up there.

The U.P. is a slice of heaven. Unfortunately, that slice is located under 27 feet of snow, ice, and empty beer cans.

I was walking to the garage one morning with a cup of coffee wearing my hunting boots (unlaced) when the lace of one boot got caught in the lace hooks of the other boot. I went over like a felled tree and most of the hot coffee hit me right in the face. There were no witnesses.

This feels a bit like dork confession.

I was trying to make myself some eggs earlier today. I grabbed them out of the refrigerator, then tried to open the cooking spray to put in the pan...with the eggs in the same hand & cracked the darn things all over myself. Doh! Should have set them down before I tried to open the cooking spray.

I went to the local pet shop to buy a new wet dry filter once, after I paid I was so excited that I took it to the car, drove off, got home, set it up, and then realized that I left my 2 year old at the pet shop! My fish are doing really well since I got the filter but I havnt seen my kid in 22 years. actually I just forgot my change ($90 something dollars)

Once, after skiing, I left the mountain without my leg -- had been skiing on one leg all day, and it just completely slipped my mind to put the other one back on when I was getting dressed.

I did use to have a habit of walking into objects head first. I've even walked into the tail boom of a bright yellow rescue helicopter (thankfully the heli was in a hanger & not going).

I am tempted to to tie my pencil and eraser to my wrist at work. I'll put them somewhere and imediately spend the next couple of minutes trying to find them.

    Yah, that's true.

    ANYWAY

I was at a grocery store and was turning the corner pretty fast when I almost ran into this old man. I yelped, stopped, put my hand out to acknowledge him and said "Oh I'm SOOO sorry sir, I didn't mean to startle you!"

It was a cardboard cutout display of Bartles and James like this one.

Haha, I do the same thing at work. I get all set up, put the earbuds in, and I will go several hours without turning on music. My co-worker does the same darn thing.

    That is really funny.
