Come on. Even if you like the guy you must admit he is overrated.

I am a huge fan of 80's/90's rock. Bruce does NOTHING for me.

I would never legitimize such an idiotic poll with a vote. It is bad enough that I'm posting here.

I'm vaguely aware of who he is. He's coming to town, and the wife wants to go see. With any luck, there will be an ice storm that night as well (the freezing rain kept me from the AC/DC show last night). And no I didn't vote.

If you think AC/DC is on the same planet as Springsteen in concert, you should see Bruce and get back to us on that.

Count me among the does nothing for me crowd.

He's talented and good at what he does, that's why he has fans. But it's a fact, a lot of people don't really like his music.

I'll take that as a "No". Sorry, but the hard questions must be asked.

Springsteen is a great artist. but, like many others, much of his music (even what he's producing now) comes from a certain time and point-of-view.

if you're not able or willing to put in the effort to understand where he's coming from, you probably won't enjoy his music.

but that's fine. plenty of folks will.

Yes, Bruce has talent, he puts on a good show, his lyrics are inspired, but the guy enunciates as poorly as Stallone. This "born and raised in western New York" lad appreciates him, but thinks that, even back in his heyday, Bruce was over-hyped.

AC/DC?!? As I recall my college days, it seems the "Hey, it's after noon. Let's get wasted" crowd were the same guys who always were quick to chant "Disco Sucks", and then cranked AC/DC - which is just as predictably repetitive as what they were agitating against.

I never gave him much thought until a friend recommended that I listen to the Nebraska album. While I will admit that I haven't listened to anything else of his, I think that album alone can keep him off the overrated list. In my opinion, there's plenty of bigger overrated fish to fry . . .

he's done some songs that i like, but i've never been his biggest fan. And he dresses like sh*t...gimme a break, it doesn't fool anyone, we all know you're a millionaire.

I'm not sure if he's overrated or overpraised.

Springsteen has achieved greatness, although I don't slobber over him.

There is a slight "Northeast-centric" hype, but that's not Springsteen's fault.

Objective people agree that his shows are among the best of all time, and not because of any stage props.

I'll largely side with Pcad on this one.

I "used to be" Bruce's biggest fan..... I am embarrassed to admit how many times I've seen him, how far I've travelled and how long I stood in line, in frigid cold temps to blazing hot, to get a good spot in GA (and I had some good spots!) My kids call it my Bruce phase.

Recording execs see him as the "elder statesman" and are pushing that image hard.

His style of dress is laughable for a man that never "worked" a day in his life. It's not cheap though, he wears Diesel jeans (on stage)which are quite expensive, but next to nothing for a millionaire rock star. He has hair plugs which smacks a bit at desperation, but YMMV.

All that said, his lyrics are truly inspired. His stage show w/the E St Band will leave you feeling like you got your money's worth and then some.
