What professions have you dated?

I'll start:

1) The Chemical Engineering - Fiance... She loved to talk about technology and science, but loved money too much.

2) The Elementary School Teacher - Fiance... great sense of humor.

3) The Microbiologist - Fiance... Always spraying Lysol everywhere.

4) The Pharmacist - Friend with privileges... She was always high on something.

5) The Customer Care Representative - Various... Those never answer the effing phone.

ur turn...

Relationships:

1) Teaching/Child Care/Special Education (Longest relationship; I could probably write a sizable post just describing snippets...On and off, but I let her go to venture out into the world.)
2) Software Development/Project Management (Relationship that should have ended in a few weekends, tops. Very nice woman, but had a lot of issues on her plate and a lot of rather sudden emergencies in her life. Instead, I waited until she e-dumped me.)
--> 3) Student (Pre-Med), Child Care Services, Consultant (Funny, beautiful, intelligent, fun to be around, beautiful daughter, and probably the socially polar opposite of who I am to boot!)

Dates (Successful):

1) Student (Biomedical Engineering) (She let me go because I was too young by a month. Need I say more?)
2) Veterinary services (Went back to her emotionally abusing ex-boyfriend, but I was pretty bad at the time too. In hindsight, the attraction was mostly physical. She was Chinese, hence automatically hot. We had nothing really substantial in common, and talking to her was, in most cases, an exercise in warrantless patience and futility. She still reaches out to me two years after we dated, and I've tried to re-bridge the gap with her a few times, but to no avail [that boyfriend was still in the picture].)
3) Unemployed (as far as I knew) (Let her go; this ***** was crazy. Seriously.)
4) Student (Law...?) (Weirdest fling that I can remember. Didn't really have a beginning or an ending, but I'm sure glad it didn't materialize.)

Dates (Unsuccessful):

1) Financial Analysis (I was the first person that she ever dated, at the green young age of 24 years old. She held my hand at first meeting, with only a few emails exchanged between us. Obviously didn't go down well. Damn Craigslist.)
2) Sex Education (Boring as molasses waiting for an event. Damn Craigslist.)
3) Dentist Assistant (We didn't click, but she seemed to have some issues. Damn MySpace.)
4) Student (Mathematics, now Philosophy) (She was Chinese, hence automatically hot at the time. I tried to date her, but she didn't seem interested. Really cool person, but was pretty much doable by anyone when drunk. Too bad she was in an engineering school at the time.)

1) Medical receptionist.

2) Real estate agent: I have been dating this woman on and off since I was 15. Who knows why we never got married.

3) Teacher of 5th grade.

4) High school history teacher

5) Teacher 2nd grade of a devout Baptist school ( nothing devout about her)

6) mathematics professor ( should have married her as well)

7) Deli owner

8) mechanical engineer

9) Mall rent-a-cop at the time now an ICU nurse. Claimed she was a vegetarian who hated sports. After we broke up her myspace page stated she liked nothing better than a good steak, and a U of M football game.

10) Nurse

11) Nurse Practitioner

12) Back with the real estate agent again.

Hmm, an interesting thread,

My high school sweetheart went on to become a runner-up in the Miss California pageant, now she works for a production company in Hollywood.

Next was an IT student in college. She was an avid triathlete, and we enjoyed going on training rides together.

After that, I somehow got hooked up with a "dancer" from Las Vegas, and managed to stay with her for almost 8 months.

Next was a cheerleader from the Memphis Grizzlies. She was a foaming-at-the-mouth-psycho-biotch-from-hell, but she was hot...

I'm now in a long term relationship with an accountant in an investment banking firm. She's pretty, very smart, and so far we've been very happy.

Me I live in the nunery, that is because I aint gettin nun.

I have dated a whole wide variety of guys

there was the 3 years with the attorney

then 2 years with a costco stock person,

Those after a marriage to an electrician,

Oh there is a guy I dated for a short period when I was young who ended up going to jail for ****... that was a very very long time ago and I was very very young.... more than half my life ago.

I guess the older you are and the longer you are single or if you have the divorce thing in there the variety can be stagering. I would say that there isn't or hasn't been any particular type that has attracted me more than others. But now in my old age with some wisdom I am a tad bit more selective about who I will be involved with.

The next thread should be what professions would you like to date in the future?

I did date a cheerleader once. That didn't work out so well.

Game tester (who later became a marketing peon) - two dates, didn't click so well, and I'm annoyed at him for something until now.

Pharmacy student - like what RubenX said...he was always high on something too.

Oboe/English horn player - very pretty and very nice, and we clicked a lot with our music and interest in psychology...I'm still friends with her now.

Eclectic - for the 7-or so months we were in a relationship he bounced from being unemployed, to being a tutor, to being a computer skills teacher, unemployed again, house sitter, political organizer...well, anyway, he couldn't hold a steady job but raked in the money by doing all sorts of odds and ends. He was...interesting. Also, he was twice my age at the time, and I didn't really care, but others did (they thought he was abusing me, which was SO not the case), and the stress from that is one of the reasons we broke up.

And...teh bf. Currently a music student and working at the same tutorial department as I am, but he used to teach a piano class at a local elementary.
