Bed, sunlight and a human companion....throw in a frisbee and the open window of a moving car to stick his head out of and that dog will be in canine utopia.

I'm not sure if we make Sam happier or if it's the other way around. I suspect it's the latter. And isn't that what doggies are all about?

Don't ask me what these stupid cats are for, I'm just wondering why I was a Cat Person for 45 years. Go figure. They are rather low maintenance.

Not so much the "eating poo" part, however.

It's probably because we mostly lived in apartments and my mother wouldn't let me have a dog. But I liked cats. Kids like all animals. They don't realize how useless cats are until they get older.

Here's mine before she got old and gray. She thinks she's a cat (owns everything and wants to sit in my spot or snuggle all day long)

So is a pet rock. Dogs are like bikes. They're the best, but they're not for people who don't want to go through any trouble or expense.

My little white pup (who has doubled in size in the three weeks I've had her) ago bosses the neighbor's Great Dane around. But they're great buddies, and she's gentle with small creatures. During her last vet yesterday, she wound up smooching one of the resident cats.

Good throw weight on those old Brooks saddles. Hey, you can save 800 grams on your bike by just going over to a Specialized Toupe 143.
