Stupid Bowl

What's the deal with the U.S. national anthem? Is there any other country where the person singing it has to but a person touch to it. I mean, how many arrangements have there been for this song? Thousands? I just find it very weird, it seems to be just part of the entertainment rather than an anthem for the country...

I agree. The singer uses it as a personal stage so they can show off there own personal talents. It's less about AMERICA and more about themselves....

American football is quite curious, aside from the goofy renditions of the National Anthem.

+1

I always enjoyed Kate Smith's version of God Bless America when she sang it for the Flyers.

Yeah sure, the problem is that Janet set the bar pretty high for half time shows.

I think there is a competition to see who can sing it with the most "soul". I'd like to hear someone sing it normal.

He's been a little flat and not hitting some of the higher notes. I'm not a fan, though. He's just another rocker that's stuck in the era that made him famous.

Out of breath the whole time, screaming Watergate-era hits which are older than those screaming fans. Pathetic caricature of himself. At least he didn't attempt The National Anthem.

Either have I! What's up with that? Has the financial meltdown dampened Madison Avenue's creativity? Shoot- they should have just run the PETA ad...

I just got back from the connivence store and it is stripped clean. There are cops out all over the place but no one is on the roads. Is it supposed to snow tomorrow or something?
