Most unamusing thing you've heard recently

Came in to work this morning and heard the company I work for is going to lay off about 6k people worldwide. Happy Monday.

Heading over to the "Hints for the newly or soon-to-be laid off" thread now, just in case.

I have been laid off several times...sigh....you just do what you have to do....

I have had to take some interim jobs that were pretty crappy but they paid the bills....

Good luck everyone!

"we're a big monopoly on secondary school application, we don't refund your money under any circumstances once you've paid, at all"

actually, "we don't refund any money no matter what" part from any major company/school/organization sounds like a bully scheme to me.

sounds like a typical bf bike review - "fas uphill, stiff yet complaint, corners like it's on a rails, yada, yada, yada..."

The most un-amusing thing I heard lately was on November 25, 2008.

"Ed, we're eliminating your position."

My landlord, to us and our downstairs neighbor/housemate: "We're selling the house, and you'll want to start looking for new places to live."

"When?"

"We're not sure when you need to be out. Soon, but maybe not too soon."
