Well, there are still a few teenagers not in prison here... but yeah, it is a bad time to be a rebellious youth in Wilkes-Barre. Teens have been getting some pretty stiff sentences for nothing.
Even aside from the judges, I heard on the news talk station from a mother, and her son had a fight at school on a Friday over a girl, and they sent him to the juvenile facility over the weekend until they could resolve the issue on Monday morning with a suspension.
Heck, if every kid I went to high school with went to juvenile hall for a fight at school, there would have been a lot more of us who would have spent time there. Heck, not every fight even led ot a suspension or even a trip to the office.
At one level it is nice that violence isn't tolerated, but I have to wonder at what point we are over-controlling kids...
Anyway... I am 3x the age where I need to worry about that from a personal perspective.
