Movies, don't you hate it when...

someone types on a laptop keyboard, and the foley guy decides to make it sound like they're typing on a pc keyboard, circa 1987.

And as they're typing on the computer, the display is projected onto the user's face.

And every little thing that happens on the screen has an associated sound effect, including image rendering.

when a character lives in NY, regardless of their pay scale, they almost always live in an amazing apartment.

When drivers in conversation turn to look at the passenger for like 6 full seconds.

gotta love it when they are looking at crappy footage from a security camera (or a satellite such as in "Patriot Games") and they are able to "enhance" the image to the point where peoples' faces become recognizable.

All the digital bleeps and whines of every little movement on the computer and/or handheld screen.

Ever notice that in King Kong, that ape is about 40 to 50 feet tall? Come on. There has never, ever been any primate taller than 8 or 9 feet. Can you imagine how much food that thing would have to eat every day? And I don't even think the load stresses on his legs would be possible unless his legs were 4 times the diameter they are. And the fact that Kong lives on an island with people, giant insects, giant snakes, and DINOSAURS is just lazy research on their part. 3 minutes on google would have revealed to them that there is no Skull Island at all. Not only that, but with the image on the screen, they're able to rectangle-select a portion of the image, zoom in, "enhance 50%" and print a hard copy of the person's face... with four keystrokes.

Lets face it. If a computer is needed to advance the plot in any way, they will screw it up.

"Eagle Eye" is a perfect example of most of this. I wanted to kick in my TV screen.

Back when modems were slow and the world-wide-web was new (at least to the public conscience), if anyone visited a website in a movie or TV show, the whole thing would download and render as if it were one large image.

Infomercials are a fine example of users typing while a website is loaded with no places to input information.

I hate that whenever there is a car crash the car explodes.

BUT, EVEN WORSE THAN THIS..... there is a news radio station in my area that has the sound of a TELETYPE running in the background while the news is being read. A FREAKING TELETYPE!!!

The upside is that this is well-known enough to be spoofed pretty often. Bicycle crash? EXPLOSION! Tree falls in the forest? KABOOOOM! Leaf falls on a previously-crashed car? BLAM! Squirrel standing in the road? MUSHROOM CLOUD!

on that note, why does every explosion in movies happen to be a gasoline explosion?

I hate that composers are forbidden by the music supervisor to use melody, and must make the entire score sound like pad chords. Scores that are performed chiefly with sampled sounds are also on my S-list.

40 ka-zillion bullets aimed straight for the hero. But the car door he's hunkered behind blocked every one.

When the scaryness of the movie, is determined by the gallons of cherry syrup flying through the air.

..and every time a character has to go someplace, they always get a parking spot RIGHT IN FRONT of the place there going to?? Even during christmas..

....and when one car rear-ends another, it always flies over the car it just rear ended??

.....and I guess someone gave the movies the cheat code to unlimited ammo, cause i've seen like, 3 clip changes total, and was all in black hawk down.
