"Talk to me, baby"

Anonymously tell someone how you REALLY feel.

Dear Mr Arizona Cop,

When death takes away someone, a barrier develops that is representative of self preservation. And as if while on duty, an occasional peek around the wall keeps things up on things. When you are out on call, it's safer to be behind the wall with your body vest on, your pistol fully loaded and all your gear in tact and all accounted for, and your mind sharp and on the side of caution. It's a big risk to step out from behind that wall, and sometimes it has to be done...but if you accomplish what you have set yourself to do, if your heart is really in it, it will all be worth it. Sometimes you just have to wait for the right moment.

Please be careful out there, I want you home safely.

I know I am careful. I have to be.

Dear idiot(s) in Kroger parking lot,

Believe it or not, a parking lot is a terrible place to go 40mph, especially in front of the entrance where people are walking. I realize this is hard to understand when your brain is only comprised of three or four cells, so you're just going to have to trust me. Also, no one wants to hear your music. Sorry.

Dear son,

I think you're a complete idiot for not turning yourself in when you know damned well that there's a warrant out for your arrest. If you run when the cops see you, that's an additional charge of evading arrest. Never mind that your Mom thinks it's OK to harbor a fugitive, it doesn't justify you not taking responsibility for your own choices. I do love you which is precisely why I can't stand to see you complicate your life this much. If I turned you in, I know you'd blame me, but it is honestly all your choices that put you there.

-Dad

Dear People who leave their pets locked in foreclosed homes:

Do you realize that because the pet is considered property it is illegal for someone like me to take your pet and give him a proper home? It is considered "stealing". Do you realize that when you lock him inside it is illegal for me to break in to save him? That would be trespassing/breaking and entering. Do you realize that without food or water the pet that you promised to love and take care of is suffering?

Please go and get him and take him to a rescue group. It costs you nothing to do that.

Signed,

A real pet lover, not one who just claims to be.

How's Your Sunset,
Today, I decided to treat my Mother to lunch before getting back to replying to your unexpected and wonderful contact. Mom said she wanted a philly cheesesteak so I loaded up the wuddles to drive the four miles to her house. I was thinking about what you said, and my reply, when we drove up to the intersection at Pleasantburg and Rutherford.

In the other lanes, going in the opposite direction, the cars were acting like the Keystone Cops. We couldn't see what was wrong but I assumed someone had a wreck. I looked in the rearview mirror and was horrified to see what appeared to be a basset hound just standing in the middle of three lanes as cars were zooming past. I rushed into the Bi-Lo, parked, and darted across the road and into the bank parking lot.

She came to me! Not sure what had happened or what was wrong but she was dazed and confused but she made it! All the idiots who nearly ran her over failed and she was safe in my arms. Best yet, she had a collar with a tag and had also recently had babies.

Her tag said her name was Rosie. She was shaking, I was shaking, but she seemed alright. Nice lady drove up as we were hugging and dialed the number of her owner. Next thing I know, Rosie's owner came, scolded her for running away, and then they were gone.

I walked back to the car, kissed Airwick and Agape, and stopped at the Huddle House to get lunch. We were driving another mile down Pleasantburg when I spotted another canine in the road and this time it was obvious we were too late. I thought about it, but realized that this sweet victim deserved the same consideration as Rosie and we turned around to remove her from the road. She was a Benji-terrier who reminded me so much of my sweet Zoni.

So, How's your sunset, this will become my reply instead of racking my brain to convince you that we are worth the gamble of taking a chance on romance. The past is something to be cherished, appreciated, and respected but life is worth living and we all deserve love.

No matter the outcome, I will not allow you to stand in the road of life and continue to be hurt from things you've experienced. Whether you come home with us or not, you will be safe. The alternative is the only thing that is completely unacceptable.

Airwick

Dear Student that was beating his girlfriend,

I don't know what in your past made you think it was okay to do that,

but I would hope and think that somewhere, deep inside, you would be able to cultivate and search out a kernel of humanity inside yourself and come to terms with the fact that what you had done was inhuman and immoral.

11 years later, I still think about what I saw you do that day, from time to time, and I hope for your sake that you haven't continued down that path.

Dear Buddy,

Thanks for all those kind words. Pages that made me feel better about who I am and what I'm going through.

In your difficult time, I hope I can be one tenth of one percent of the man you are and return the favor. I'll be thinking about you and I know we'll both make it through our difficult days.

Me.

Dear drivers,

Sorry for passing you today like you were standing still. I just decided passing you was safer than descending on winding roads far below the speed limit.

Dear Napa County Sheriff's Deputy,

Thanks for stopping those reckless drivers today. The life you saved may well have been mine.

P.S. your trunk was full of Perrier? WTF? Only in Napa....
