Look at the Moon right now

with binoculars. The dark side of the moon is lit up so you can easily distinguish the seas.

The very bright star right next to the moon, is not a star, but Venus. Its so close, you can easily see its spherical shape, like a tiny crescent Moon.

I may be a nerd, because I've been hoping all week to go look at this conjunction tonight.

And I'm pissed because it's cloudy out!

Not a cloud in the sky here in Miami. I live in the middle of the city and even with all the light noise, its magnificent.

It made me think of 2001 A Space Odyssey and Thus Spoke Zarathustra immediately played in my head.

DAMN!!! I was outside walking earlier and noticed the moon and Venus and thought that I would run in and get the camera and see if I could get a good pic...totally forgot when I got home...It's all OK though, because now I have La Chouffe to comfort me.

we were watching it in Cocoa Beach too - amazing views right before dinner .....went inside, devoured lots of sushi and sake, came back outside and it was gone.
