That's correct. Both can help with coughing spasms, though-- it totally depends on why
you're coughing. Both mucus/phlegm and bronchospasm can/will make you cough.
I have a sense that there's a bigger question behind this--one you should discuss with a doctor somewhere other than the interwebs. Go see a doctor.
