Workout music recommendation?

I haven't boughten* any music in a while, and I have a $15 Itune's gift card to burn.

Any recommendations?

I listen to just about anything except heavy, heavy metal, most country, or really obscure music; for work out music, it just has to have a good, continuous beat. This isn't for on the bike or running, but music to wake me up and motivate me after I crawl from my bed to the floor in the morning to work out for about 30-60 minutes.

Also, this doesn't have to be "good" music. It has to be good work out music. I've listened to some horrible music over the years working out that I otherwise wouldn't have, but it kept me going...

*most of my music is from friends, not downloaded, although I'm not sure there's a difference legally.

Basement Jaxx. Its what East German swimmers use to train. And makes me feel like a 13 year old girl from Nottingham again. Try it before knocking it.

I tell you, Basement Jaxx. It will change your workout life. Try "Romeo".

I think anything fast should do. It really depends on what you like.

try Fishbone. or Pizzicato Five. or the Johnny Burnette Trio. or Phillip Glass.

actually instead of buying, why not internet radio stream? You give up control and predictability but get some novelty so it's not the same old same old every workout.

I pretty much always listen to trance while working out. You get a good beat to sweat to.

Anything disco. The standard disco tempo is 60-66 beats/minute. With some ingenuity, you can get a nice range of cadences in there. Plus, what's not to like about disco???

I checked them out, and although a few good songs, nothing that really grabs me. Personal taste really.

Nice music, but the cameraman isn't holding anything approaching a steady line.

Surf tunes (Wipeout, Hawaii 5-0, Miserlou, Pipeline) and anything by the Ramones. That's what I use for intervals in my spin class.

More fast stuff: Iggy Pop (Lust For Life), Billy Idol (Dancing With Myself), Led Zeppelin (Rock and Roll)

Believe it or not, the favorite song of my spin students is 867-5309/Jenny.
