I passed my test

I was given a "random" drug test by my employer, and passed it without needing to cleanse.

I think I'll light up a huge one before today's ride, just to celebrate.

Wow....every company puts in their employment guidelines that you agree to a possible random test, but I've never heard of a company actually giving one.

Actually, the company I work for now has no drug policy. The only company I've ever worked for that doesn't have such a policy.

Armed forces do them all the time - especially if they think some people are under the influence.

It's not a big deal if you don't do drugs

It's not a waste of money if it has to do with safety related issues. People using heavy machinery for example.

My place of employment has had a bit of a problem with painkiller abuse, and one employee was busted for selling Meth at his home.

I've always joked openly about smoking pot, but hadn't actually smoked in a few months.

I use to get tested (randomly) at my former employment. It usually happened on specific days so a buddy and me would do killer amounts of B vitamins and hope to be called.

A lot of software companies don't have a drug testing policy. (Is it any wonder so many companies are turning out so much junk-ware?)

That would be the case if the tests distinguished current intoxication versus prior use. Joe Schmoe smoking a doob with his buddies during the Sunday BBQ isn't going to be any more of a danger driving the forklift on Monday than he would if he had just stuck with beer.

I'm speaking of current. At my work if you have an accident it is mandatory to get a drug test. So yes, it would probably most likely be related if the employee comes out positive.

I work with Class 3 drugs so we get them all the time. You walk into work and they tell you you were picked today. Then you have 30 minutes to get to the clinic. Really 30 minutes it's written in the Standard Operating Procedure. You can refuse but that basically means your fired. It's not the company per say, their just following the FDA rules.

i don't understand the need to celebrate a given conclusion, unless you somehow passed a test that you shouldn't have?

Aside from brethalyzers, the closest any drug test gets to determining intoxication is a mouth swab, and those are relatively expensive so nobody really uses them. Most tests will be urine analysis, which will tell you if the subject has used illicit drugs somewhere within the last few days to a month, depending on their usage and metabolism. It doesn't tell you if they were high when the accident happened.

ETA: From what I've read, mouth swabs are only able to tell if the subject has used within the last 12 hours. So even those won't necessarily tell you if the subject is intoxicated.

Let's just say some OTCs can be shown as opiods in urine tests. So always have a backup plan. And a lawyer.

I have a prescription for Lortab 10/500 + Gabapentin for a back injury, but I haven't needed to take them since early December. Other than that, I consume alcohol a few times a week. It was no big deal to lay off the herb for a few months.

It's nice to know that I was clean when they asked for my urine.
