Ok,

the scoop.

me, single, have had long term girlfriends but those relationships didn't last over 5 years.
(last one...I was cheated on, she was a sssllluuutttttt)
So....after that I tried a few more times to date...got bored with dating, was intentionally alone for a looooong time.

2009... I saw some tragic news about my high school sweetheart family, and I figured...well I have not spoken to, nor seen this girl in 25 years, but I have to try to look her up and offer condolences.

well, I did that, and she appreciated my call, and sez How you doin ?

turns out she was married and cheated on too, and divorced that dirtbag 5 years ago, and was single herself. no kids. we spoke 3 hours the first phone call, 3 hours the next day, and 6 hours the next. seems we really groove on each other. but no romance could be assumed....

well, 5 months pass....after getting closer as friends and spending loads of time on the phone and visiting (we are only 90 miles apart) it is now official, we are boyfriend/girlfriend again and both amazingly happy and it feels
like this is what we have both been wanting all this time. call it fate...we do... and we are loving it.

so...I am back in love with my high school sweetie and she is in love with me and we are having a freaking blast ! Dire Straits Romeo and Juliet lyrics in real life, but when he says 'You and me babe, how about it ?.." she says YES !!!!

my original post starting this thread, I had wanted to say this stuff, but I was afraid it wouldn't turn to romance and I would go back to can kicking down lonely alleyways....well, we are inseparable now so I am OK to write about it !

"high school sweethearts, apart for 23 years, back together apparently"

Close to this story. I had a good friend in HS that had a cuuuute little sister. 19 years after the last time I saw her we accidentally ran into each other via mutual friends. Been married for 13 years now. She's the best woman on earth. I would say that I wish I'd married her first but the two previous psycho wives make me appreciate her all the more.
