So when I get opportunities, I judge Policy Debate in high school debate tournaments on the weekends. Relatively, it pays somewhat well for quick one-off cash (between $15 and $25 an hour, depending on the school and the importance of the tournament) and keeps me in the loop of what used to be my defining and favorite activity in high school.
I absolutely love it, but my only issue is that now I see how super easy it is to gain extra weight without really trying. A typical debater will be quite physically inactive throughout the event, while being fed wonderfully nutritious food, such as bread, pasta, more bread, pizza, Chinese food and TONS upon TONS of free soda and easily accessible fast food.
Needless to say, it was a bit difficult to keep in line with my conservative eating habits. I didn't eat anything crazy (craziest thing I ate was late yesterday, where I ate a tuna salad with a black and white milkshake with some guys at the diner), but I feel...different.
Doesn't help that my stomach has been throwing me off for the last few days.
